I am always touched by the effort of my students to recognize American holidays.  They may not know the significance of the day, but they recognize that we celebrate particular days.  And they make an effort to acknowledge it and wish me well.

what's going on in your life？

The Women's Symposium is coming! and my mom is coming too!
I'm busy and under presure, but I'm doing ok! I used to be very sick
emotionally, but now I'm over it! How's your life?

NOTE:   "I used to be very sick emotionally, but now I'm over it!"   This statement concerns me and I will have to delve in to this a little deeper with Gloria the next time we check in with each other.
