This is a great place to visit.  There are 12 beers on tap.  Beers come in drafts and six packs. The flights are 6 (5 ozs) beers for $11 which is a very good deal.

Food is also served The personal pizza was only $5 and too much for me to eat. Service was poor but there was only one waitress to take care of the entire place.  She did the best she could.

All of the beers were very good.  I tried:
  • Milk Stout,- delicious  with a strong coffee taste.  I wait all year for the release of a good stout and this one was worth the wait.
  • Hop Hog IPA - filled with hops and bursting with lots of taste.
  • Unfiltered IPA- I really liked it.  I am not sure I ever had an unfiltered beer and I am not sure I can tell you how this differs from a filtered beer but it was good. There is a hint of grapefruit and citrus in this beer.
  • Blonde Stout- "This beer is sure to trick your senses" and it did. It's golden color threw me off. It tasted like a coffee porter. 
  • Barrel Aged Blonde Stout- it was very good but it didn't have enough of a hops taste for me. This beer is aged for 3 months and has a very smooth taste.  There is a definite after taste of whiskey.
  • Winter Warmer- good but my least favorite which surprises me because I like a winter ale. Compared to the other full bodied beers, it was too light for me.

Locust Lane Brewery

Malvern, PA

I liked this brewery for two reasons: (1) the beer is good and (2) the brewmaster and his wife met at Penn State, my alma mater, and decided to open a brewery. The beer is good.  The prices are reasonable and the staff is friendly.  It's a great place to sit with friends and have a beer.

On The Presidential Debates

October 2012

I asked my Chinese students to comment on the debate comments around China.  Susanna responded.  She is from a small city near Beijing and probably is my most worldly student in a group of 40 college women.

 
 
Dear Bridget,

I saw the top news and report about American presidential debate a lot, but i didn't watched that debate. 
The reason why the topic of the rise of China have to be the hottest one and a key point for presidential election is that China did develop and we are developing continuously.

I don't like America always behave like a teacher to guide other country how to act. The two men talked like they two parties really wanna deal with this 'China' student problem in front of the world. But actually, it's not their business.

The US government is afraid of the rise of China, are you afraid of us after you learn from Chinese students and our rising?

pps. Where are you? US or Canada? How are you?

ppps. I really enjoy Robert's company and his knowledge and his humor.
