A Facebook Posting
April 28, 2015

On this day, my niece and her husband were in Nepal, doing some volunteer work at an orphanage.  A major earthquake struck the area, killing many people and destroying whole communities.

On the other side fo the globe, my nephew, Ryan, was a place officer in Baltimore, MD.  A young, black man had just died in the hands of the police and the city erupted in to five days of anger and riots and chaos.

I posted this on facebook:

Bridget E Kelly: And Heather just posted on her site: Steve and I are very grateful to report that we landed safely in malaysia this morning.  It has been a very emotional few days, as we watch our nepalese friends and neighbors cope with this tragic event. my heart aches for the wonderful people of Nepal, who have showed us so much warmth, kindness and generosity during our short time here. The next few months will certainly be a challenging road ahead, but I have no doubt of their amazing strength and resiliency as they rebuild.
