The Penguins
Antarctica

When I went to Antarctica, I think I took 1000 photos of the penguins. I just couldn't take enough photos of them. And each day, when I boarded the zodiac, from the ship, I told myself that I had enough photos and that I should just put my camera away and stay in the moment. But that never happened. At the end of each day, I had another 100 photos.
I looked at these photos for years. I kept them on an external hard drive. And one day, that hard drive crashed and I lost all but three photos of the penguins and I am still devastated to this day. And sometimes, I think I will take that expensive, dangerous trip again just so I can take more photos of these adorable creatures. It was great fun to hang with them. I just wished that they didn't smell so damn much.
