That Slow Descent to Winter

And so it begins: that slow descent to winter. It creeps up on me every year. The days get shorter. The air gets cooler and then colder. And I become miserable. And so you have been warned.

Tonight is our last sunset after 8 p.m. for this year.

We won't see an 8 p.m. sunset again until April 28th, 2021... it's a reminder that Fall is right around the corner.

  Yeah, before I know it the highs creep down to the mid 60s, and it'll only rain once a week or so. For the next few months I'll Occasionally need a long sleeved shirt, or even closed toed shoes.

  My boys and I go for walks most days. I point out those subtle changes...a few acorns falling, smells and colors changing, extra leaves in the pool. I love ( and sometimes hate) the change of season, but I don't want to miss it either way!
