I was slow to come on board to social media. I really mistrusted Facebook and My Space when they first launched.  I thought they were too invasive.  A board member asked me to connect with him on LinkedIn and I wasn't really interested but I opened an account anyway. I don't remember when I joined Twitter but that account sat for a couple fo years before I actually started posting anything. 

Much of my disinterested stemmed from the fact that I did not and still do not have an internet provider in my home. I do not have a television so I never had the opportunity to get a cable provider. So, for years, I only had internet access at work.  Now I can access the internet from my cell phone.

Twitter    

•  I have 31.8K followers.
•  I am following 31.7 people.
•  I have released 22K tweet to date.
•  I am on this site several times a day.  I get much of my news here.
•  Most of my tweets are political.
•  One of my tweets had over 1,000,000 views.  My phone buzzed for three days as those views added up.

LinkedIn 

•  I have 1800 followers.  Most of them are former students.
•  I go on this site a few times a week. Mostly I post articles about women's issues.

Facebook

•  I have 2300 friends; most of these people are former students.
•  I click on this damn site all damn day.  I post every day and I engage with people all day long.
• On November 2, All Souls' Day, I publish a list of my former students who have died.  I hear from students all day long who share stories of their classmates.

Wordpress

     I used to post here a lot but now I forget to go there. I posted so much that I had to pay a fee for more space and my domain name.  It is just getting to be too expensive and underused so I may drop this account.

Blogspot- 2549 posts; 1,086,000+ views

• I used to have five blogs on this site but now I am consolidating all of them.
• My main blog is Memories of An Ordinary Woman.
• I used to keep a beer blog:  BKBK- Bridget Kelly Beer Kook.  But I stopped posting because I was becoming too obsessive about my beer consumption.
• I have two travel photo blogs:  Wandering Through America and Wanderings Around the World.  I haven't put enough effort in to get enough momentum going on these blogs.
• Mostly I release a blog entry a day.
• I write something every day on this blog. For the past three years, I have included a daily journal entry to this blog.
• I used to get lots of hits on my blogs but then Blogspot stopped functioning and now I get very few hits.

Tumblr- I don't know.  I can't even find this account anymore.

Pinterest- At first, I loved this site but then it became boring and I don't think I've been on it for years.

Instagram 

• I joined this site becasue I wanted to limit my interactions to just my nieces and nephews so that I could see photos of their children.  They have disappointed me.  They don't publish enough photos for my liking.
• I have 500 followers: surprisingly, I do not know most of these people. 
• I am following 121 following.  Several of them are professional photographers who inspire me.
• I have over 2000+ posts. 
• I post a photo most days.
