It can be fixed, call the company, they will tell you where the nearest repair place is.

Not to sound to obvious but did you check the breaker? My freezer was in a ground fault breaker and it would trip all of the time.

Find a repair place that offers free diagnostics. You may want to repair man shop. I recently reported to kenmore that we needed to replace our deep freeze because it died on us. They gave me a credit in the estimated value of food lost.

Depends, if it's motor issue, better off replacing. When our motor went it was $895 so we just got new.

did you see that it kicked back on last night. I am putting the house on the market soon and I am hoping that I don't have to buy a new refrigerator. Why do you think it stopped working?

Sounds like the control board. But you might want to check first to see if it's dusty in back. If there's a lot of dust on the fan, it might not be working properly. If it's not cooling the motor properly, the motor will shut off to keep from overheati…

6 yrs is borderline. Tough call. Consumer Guides does a great guide on when to repair or replace appliances.
