Highlights- 2015
Someone gave me a gratitude journal which requires just a sentence or two each day. Usually, I start these journals and after a week or two, I toss the journal in the trash. But so far, I’ve been adding daily entries for over 1 ½ years. Here are some highlights:
Jan 2- Spent the afternoon with William, watching old movies
Jan3- 1st annual beer exchange party. I tried some pretty good beers.
Jan 6- first snow of the year. Let’s hope it is the last.
Jan 10- Clay’s basketball game. He made the first basket off the game.
Jan 14- Investment Club meeting: we are making money!!!!
Jan 16- My new hot tub arrived!!!!!!!
Jan 18- Lots and lots of rain today. I am always so thankful for rain rather than snow.
Jan 19- Went to see the movie Selma; I don’t have that much courage.
Jan 20- Found a box of old photos.
Jan 29- Ocean City Brewery visit. They make good beers.
Feb 2- Baby June is born. That’s 6 now of the third generation.
Feb 6- Heading to Australia, New Zealand and Fiji for a few weeks
Feb 7- This day is lost as I crossed the International Dateline. I’ll make it up on the way home.
Feb 13- All 7 continents visited as of today.
Feb 28- The end of a wonderful trip.
March 1- Got home from my trip and no broken, frozen pipes.
March 5- A blizzard stranded me at Sharon and Glenn’s house for two days
March 8- Daylight Savings. It was still light out at 6:30PM. Here comes the spring.
March 11- No coat needed today. Spring is almost here and I can’t wait.
March 15- St. Patrick’s Day Dinner with the family.
March 18- Finally, finally found a new doctor.
March 21- spent the day with Darcy and Rick Chamberlain. There aren’t many of these days left.
March 24- Dad would be 87 today. I wonder what he would look like.
March 26- Joy Kelly’s funeral; there was something very calming about being with my cousins
March 27- Rick died. My heart is broken but it was comforting to be with everyone.
April 1- I hate to say it but the snow looked beautiful today.
April 2- Our CCDC meeting was long, tense but productive.
April 4- Campaigning for Diane Simon for School Board position
April 7- Taxes are done. I am relieved.
April 12- Visited Charlene Frable. I don’t think she is going to last much longer.
April 17- Dance Marathon at Springfield High School- $248,000 raised by high school kids.
April 19- Dog show with the Descanos. Their dog, Harry, won a ribbon.
April 23- I met the President of the United States!!! I got to talk to him.
April 24- Cecil County Public Library Celebration- Library of the Year
April 25- leave for San Jose, CA to visit with Sam Stein. We haven’t seen each other in 12 years.
April 30- Clarion Art Mural Project- CA
May 2- Home!!! It’s always good to come home.
