Brewery 100

Brewery 100
Goose Island Brewery Company
Philadelphia, PA
March 15, 2018

This was a great visit because it was my 100th brewery visit to date.  When I told the hostess, she informed everyone else in the place and I had a moment of celebrity status which I drank up with pride and enthusiasm.  The brewmaster came out to meet me.  Photos were taken. All of the wait servers checked in with me to make sure the beer was worthy of this visit.  I was given stickers and beer coasters.  My friend, Bill, said he felt like a movie star.

I have always been a big fan of Goose Island IPA.  It's on my list of Top 10 Go-To Beers.  So I was so damn excited when I heard that they were opening a brewery in Philadelphia. And the visit stood up to my high expectations.  This was a great visit. And I can hardly wait to go again and again.

Of course, I had the IPA and a citrus IPA.  I had a delicious porter but I also had the Fulton Street Blend which was a blonde coffee Pale Ale (it's the beer on the right). The color was deceiving and the tastes were distinctive and refreshing. I brought a growler of this beer to my beer club and people struggled with identifying the taste. It was a big hit.

The next time I go there, I am going to order every beer on tap. And I am going to secure a designated driver as well.
