AUGUST 2017

West Chester, PA

1(T)- PA- I spent the day doing nothing.  I have no energy.

2 (W)- MD- I had dinner with Betty and John.  It is always nice to see them.  And John seems to have found a miracle drug for his cancer.  He is gaining weight. Heather, my niece had a beautiful baby boy- Elliot James Cassey.  I can't wait to meet him.
3 (TH)- PA- Movies with Leslie Grimms- Lost in Paris. It was quirky and fun.
4 (F)-PA- WXPN Free At Noon Concert with my two new friends whom I met last week at a bar.
5 (S)- PA- Finally went to the local Farmers' Market and it is overrated.I can't believe I got early to get here.
6 (SU) -PA- A lazy day at Chestnut Square.  I like to hang here.
7 (M) -MD- went to Carpenters' Point and it felt great to soak in my hot tub all damn afternoon. I miss my tub.
8 (T)- MD- an afternoon of gardening.  I had to weed whack the lawn because I don't have a lawn mower. My weeds are winning.
9 (W)- NJ- I drove to Wildwood for the day to hang with Teresa and her family.
10 (TH)- MD- had library meeting and then went to  dinner with Joann at Johnny's Sushi House.  I love that place and I always eat like a  pig when I am there. I had the Chesapeake roll that was filled with fried oyster.

11 (F)- PA- I tried to Skype with my students in Nepal but was unsuccessful.  So I hung at the pool instead.
12 (S)-PA- There was a bike race in town.  It was thrilling to watch the Women's race.  And I had VIP tickets which allowed me to sit at he finish line with free beers and foods.
13 (SU)- PA- Spent the day on social media.  there is lots of coverage about Nazis and the KKK.  I went on a few of their sites and their views are horrifying.
14 (M)- PA- Went to the Uptown Theatre to watch To Sir With Love.  Left as a member and volunteer usher. They have a very good PR strategy.
15 (T)- PHL- went to a concert at the World Cafe with Bill McRAe.  I love this venue.
16 (W)- MD- Yet another library meeting, followed by a relaxing evening in my hot tub.
17 (Th)- MD- dinner at Steak & Main with Joann.  We eat and drink too much when we are together.

18 (F)- PA- a rainy day curtailed my afternoon walk.  But I really have no excuse as I could have used the fitness center in my damn building.
19 (S)- DE- sat Shiva and Lynn Shapiro. Her dad died at the age of 89.
20 (SU)- PA- Watched youtube videos on how to make an eclipse box.  I like my box but I still wish I hadn't waited so long to buy a real pair of eclipse sunglasses.  They only cost $1 at Walmart.
21 (M)-PA- Went the WCU campus to watch the solar eclipse with hundreds of other people.  It was thrilling and my box was a bust.  Fortunately, someone let me use his glasses for a moment. Later in the evening, I ushered at the Uptown Theatre. We were showing Airplane, a ridiculous movie.
22 (T) -MD- yet another library meeting.  This obligation is coming to an end but damn, it's taking lots of my time.  I attempted to clean my house but my heart wasn't in to it.

23 (W) -PA- dinner with KF.  We have been friends for 55 years so I gave her one on of my mother's painting. She was thrilled. I loved giving it to her and I hated parting with it.
24 (TH) -PA- spent the day photographing my mom's paintings.  I don't do them justice.
25 (F)-  PA- hung all day at my new apartment and felt content.  I didn't use my car today.
25 (S)-PA- Movies with Tricia, The Swim Team, the story of an autistic swim team.  I bought a beer for $7 but also had to spend $3 for a damn, reusable cup which I know will never make it to this theatre again.
26 (Su)- PA- Went to Leo's birthday party in Havertown; I can't believe he is 8 already.
27 (M)-MD- made my way to my home in MD and sat in my beloved hot tub. I wish I could put this tub on my balcony in my apartment.
28 (T) -MD- lunch at Johnny's Sushi House with Joann.   I was not feeling well enough to go to dinner eat the Descanos' house.
29 (W) -PA- Sloane and Aiden came over to hang at the pool.  James joined us later for dinner at the Iron Hill Brewery.
30 (TH)- PA- Michelle Santoro is home from Tanzania so she and Shelia came over for drinks and dinner. It was fun to see her again.
