Perched On A Branch
Serengeti National Park
Tanzania
February 2016
I see this bird off in the distance and slowly creep up to it in hopes of getting a great shot. One friend calls out to me, "Hey what the hell are you doing? Come on. Let's go."
I ignore her and keep walking. I can't get as close as I would like and he is still a little too far off for the perfect shot. I quickly take a shot and turn back to the truck where my friends are waiting.
My other friend starts up with me. "Really? Really, we are going to have to stop for every frigging bird in Africa? Do you know how many frigging birds there are in Africa? We are not stopping every five minutes for a bird."
And for the rest of the trip, I heard this commentary each and every single time we stopped so I could capture these beautiful birds.
