My Backyard

My Backyard
Carpenter's Point, MD

It's a small backyard but when I sit out there, I feel like a part of a larger world. In addition to my flower garden, birds, bugs and butterflies flitter around.  There is a groundhog that waddles pass me on a regular basis.  Two feral cats roam the yard, looking for mice and scraps of food that I leave them.  I want them to find the mice before they come in my house.  A raccoon wandered down my driveway once.  There are a few squirrels that made a nest in one of my trees.

I sit out there when I first get up in the morning. I sit there with my cup of coffee and listen to the birds.  I go out again late afternoon and watch out for butterflies.  The the late night lures me out there again to watch the star covered sky.

My yard may small but it's filled with life.
