Wiseman, Alaska
June 2007
I wonder why this sign became necessary. Wiseman sits above the Arctic Circle. I had to take a small plane to get to the nearby town and then take a beat up , old school bus to get to this town. It was a huge effort. So the only people who want to go there, really want to go there. No one ends up here by accident or out of desperate circumstances.
I wonder if belongings have been taken. Again, I can't imagine anyone trying to take the bobsleds, the moose antlers, the snow trackers, the summer teepees, the dog sled reins or any other thing up there that is so critical to the life and death of these few people.
I wonder who couldn't figure out that he should "respect people's belonging."
