Craters of the Moon National Monument
Idaho
July 2016
My friend asked me to join her at a music festival in Oregon. She told me we would drive from her house in Colorado to Oregon. It would only take a mere 18 hours of driving. I was up for the trip but instead that we stop at Craters of the Moon in Idaho. I wanted to see this unusual place. So we drove there, a little out of our way but after three days of traveling, a few extra hours didn't really matter.
It was hot that day, really hot. I didn't feel like getting out of the car. And the climb to the top of the hill seemed really steep, steeper than I wanted to climb in this hot air. But the climb up was not what worried me. I was more afraid that the walk down would be so steep that gravity would pull me faster than I wanted to go. SoI sat in the car wile my friend tok the climb and my urge to see the craters was satisfied.
