Emlee

Emlee, Safari Guide

The Serengeti National ParkTanzaniaFebruary 2016

Emlee was our driver and guide while I was on safari in Tanzania.  He couldn't say my name.  Bridget was just too hard for him to get.  So I suggest that he call me "Kelly".  I thought that would be a little easier on him.  But I never recognized my name when he called for me.  Siohbvan would turn to me and laughingly say, "Hey, Kel-la, Emlee wants to tell you something."  and then I would apologize for taking so long to respond to him.  Finally, we settled on me being called "African Queen" and that seemed to work for both of us. As he stopped a giraffe or a bra off in the distance, he would call and and ask, "My African Queen, do you see the zebra up ahead." My two travel mates were a little put off by all of the attention Emlee showered on me.  But I am sure they will get over it.
