At long last, I found my great grandparents, my grandfather's parents. I know very little about them. They migrated from Scotland some time around 1905 and landed in Rhode Island. They lived through the end of slavery to WWII, WWII, the Great Depression, the Korean War, Jim Crow and the atomic bomb.
