I met Lisa, Deb and Mary at the Urban Source Brewery (1) in Fishtown. This brewery has been around for 4 years and today is the first I've heard of it. They don't serve flights but they really push samples. So I had a coffee stout, a dragonfly IPA and a citrus IPA and I samples two other beers. All of them were delicious.
When we met at 5, the place was empty but quickly, it was packed and the service was great. I liked this place.
Of course, we mostly talked about the demise of the USA and everyone's civil rights. There are no words to describe the chaos that has exploded in our country this week.

I slept really well last night. I am finally getting the hang of my CPAP. I am able to sleep through the night while I am wearing the damn mask.
It's dreary day and I stayed home and hung in the lounge.
Twitter: The whole world hates us and I am with them. #TrumpisaNationalDisgrace

I went to BMFI to see the movie, The Brutalist. It is up for an Academy Award so I thought it had to be good. The movie was 3.35 hours long. It was boring. I didn't like the story. I didn't like any of the characters. There were too many needless, long shots of traveling on bumpy road (and that me me nauseous). I was sorry I went to see this dreadful movie.
I came home and ran in to Kristen and she was so happy to see me because Susan told her that I left today for a month's vacation. So, in celebration of me going nowhere, we sat in the lounge and drank beers. Susan passed by and clarified that she was talking about the other Bridget who lives in the building.
I have been wanting to speak to Susan since Trump came back to destroy American. Susan's grandchild has transitioned from male to female and she has been so supportive. I asked her if she has been watching what trump has been doing to the trans community and she was completely unaware. I think she is a trump supported (or at least a republican) and she was not aware of any of his dreadful executive orders.
Twitter: The price of eggs and gas are up. We are quickly losing respect around the world. 1600 criminals were pardoned and released. Bird flu is real and we left WHO. Musk has access to our personal information. And MAGA thinks this is great? #TrumpIsUnfitForOffice

I got up early for me. I did a little bit of cleaning and then I went off to the bank to address a problem with my account. There is a teller who has been there at least for the last 7 years. I talked to her once about her son who struggled with drug addiction. And now, she makes a point of always saying hello to me. She is always pleasant and I appreciate her good will.
I finally got my hair cut. I think it's been since October that I got it cut. I hate getting my hair cut. It causes anxiety in me.
I checked in to see if Jaye and Dom want to come here for the Super Bowl. She'll let me know.
Sue called and is worried about Thursday and snow and ice and rain and our theater tickets. Now I am going over to her house on Wednesday and we can decide early in the morning, what we are going to do.
Trump continues to wreak havoc on the world. He is in the midst of trade wars with Mexico, Canada and China. He claims he is going to take Greenland and the Panama Canal. Columbia is made at him for sending immigrates back in an unannounced stop in a military plane. He is such an idiot.
My blog has had 1.193.066 views to date. Who the hell is looking/reading my blog.
My IA haiku about Trump's dangerous leadership:
A leader unwise,
Chaos blooms in his wake's dust,
5- W- PA
There is supposed to be a huge ice storm thought out the night so Sue called and suggested the I come to her house and spend the night and then we can decide if we are going to go to see our play, Come From Away. Once we made this agreement, Kevin called and asked if we could get together for Chinese. So we met at Sues and Kevin stayed until he started to fall asleep. Sue and I stayed up and debated the transgender issue. She is a bit more constructive than I am.
6- TH- PA
OMG, I loved the play, Come From Away. I loved the story. I loved the simplicity of the stage set. I loved that the performers were fat and dumpy. I loved that they were just simple human beings who stepped up at a time of great despair.

Kristen wanted me to go to Iron hill Brewery (2) so she could flirt with Steve, the bartender. Later in the leaving, we went to Artillery Brewery (3) to hear Band Marquette. Patty Lever and her husband were there as well and Scott, Betty and Rich met up with us. Kristen left. We closed down the brewery and headed back to Iron Hill and closed that place as well. It was a fun night of good music, beers and friends.
Trump announced that he wants to take over Gaza and make it a resort and he would displace 2,000,000 Palestinians to other countries in the middle East. He is going to get himself assassinated. I want him to die but I do not want him murdered.
8- SA- PA
It was a dreary day is I stayed in bed and listened to podcasts. We were supposed to be hit with a big storm today.
I did get up to go to Acme and get food for the Super Bowl tomorrow. I'm looking forward to the game and the party and I cant wait until it is all over.
Twitter: My mother died of uterine cancer in 1998. In 2020, I was diagnosed with uterine cancer and there was only talk of survival because I had a radiation treatment that was not available in 1998. And he wants to cancel cancer research. I hate, hate, hate him. #TrumpIsUnfitForOffice
My haiku on Trump's obsession with Greenland:
Greenland on his mind,
Icebergs, deals, and empty dreams,
A land not to buy.
9- SU- PA
Today was a full, fun day. And I was exhausted and aching by the time I went to bed.
I had an ushering assignment at Uptown in the early afternoon. And before I went there, I stopped in the lounge to see if there was any Super Bowl vibe yet in the lounge and sure enough, there was. Jim, Andrea and Barbara were up by 8AM to decorate the space. Jim was sitting and drinking and staring at the TV.
The show at Uptown was excellent. A dance company performed a dance and narration about a woman who hide in West Chester, PA in 1780 as she made her way through the underground railroad to Canada. I knew this area was rich in involvement in the freedom os slaves. But Im proud of what efforts were made here to harbor and support the freedom of slaves. I am going to have to book a spot on the Kennet Swore Underground Railway tour.
I got home around 4:30 and the lounge was already filled with people, food, drinks and excitement. And we had still had another two hours until the game started. And the crowd just grew in the next hour. There were at least 40 people there throughout the night.
And, of course, the Eagles won handsomely: 40 to 22. What a great game. I thought the game was going to be neck to neck and the winner would be the team who had the ball at the last play. We are national champs.
And then we ran out to join the crowd on Gay street. The cops had shut down the road between high and New Streets and the crowd was excited, chanting and drinking and dancing but manageable.
Betty, Scott and I came back to the lounge and had a beer and complained about the state of the USA.
It was a good, tiring day.
My haiku about Trump getting booed at the Super Bowl:
Mixed cheers and some jeers
Trump appears on the big screen
Super Bowl echoes

I got caught up in a new podcast: Scamamda, the story of a woman who scammed people to send her money for her cancer treatment which she didn't have, There are 8 episode and it played through the night but I was in and out of sleep so I missed key parts of the story. So I took time and listened to the last 4 episodes in the morning.
I went to the lounge and chatted people up all afternoon and in to the evening. Mostly we talked about the controversial half time show of Kendra LaMar whom I don't know. We couldn't hear the worlds to his singing but apparently, he centered his show around the idea of standing up for your own voice and don't let the main stream tell you how to think, believe, or react. The message was lost on me.
My haiku about Trump's immaturity:
Tweets like a thunder,
A child in a grown man’s skin,
Words sharp as daggers.
11- M- PA
I went to the movies to see I’m Still Here and I loved it. This actress should win an award for her performance.
I got a text from Kristen. The Germans recognize the Eagles win at thier high school. The principal put up a big message on the website and the kids who were her with us in October, wore their Eagles shirts to school.
There was so much controversy about the half-time show so I went on YouTube to find out what it was all about and I liked what I learned. He sent a great, big FU to Trump and his USA. "They not like us."
12- TU- PA
It snowed through the night and everything looked beautiful and wintery but the roads were cleared by the time I had to get up so all was good with my world.
There were plenty of conversations about halftime show. The white men in the building hated it. There weren't enough white people in the performance for their liking.
I hung in the lounge when I got home and Gina and Rich and others stopped by to chat about the game. As I was just thinking of leaving, Kristen showed up so, of course, we decided to meet in fifteen minuted with our favorite beverages. And then Pam showed up and Betty and Scott and then Ashley and I drank too much.
My haiku about Trump's poor leadership:
Gold throne, vacant seat,
tweets rise while duty withers,
storms pass unattended.
13- TU- PA
I didn't take a gummie last night because I had too much to drink and I paid a price. I tossed and turned all night long and thought that I didn't sleep at all. But I listen to one particular podcast three times and each time, the story was unfamiliar to me.
There was a documentary movie at Uptown about an Afghanistan snowboard team. Right after we left the country in 2021, the teams were shut down for being too western in culture.
My haiku for the day:
Trump's words sow discord,
Muslims face unwarranted scorn,
Unity must heal.
14- F- PA
In the evening, Kristen and I went to Ironhill Brewery for Happy Hour. We ran in to some friends of hers and had a good time. I drink too much when I am with Kristen.
Trump’s trade wars begin,
tariffs rise like restless waves,
costs fall on the poor.
15- SA-PA
It was snowing and sleeting all day and I am ready for spring.
In the afternoon, I went to the Sly Fox Brewery (4) with Sally, Stacey and others to celebrate Stacey's 62nd birthday. It's always fun to sit in a bar and drink with them. And we didn't drink too much which is even better.
I watched the movie, The Only Girl in the Orchestra. It's up for an academy award but I didnt think the movie was that interesting.
Topic: Trump gives his job away.
Tump steps aside,
Musk now steers the restless ship,
Winds of change arise.
16- SU- PA
It would be a bit accurate to say that was a lazy day. But I did do some cleaning of my apartment. I did listen to my audiobook. I did check in with KF and a few other people. i did post lots of photos on my Wandering Around America blog. So it was productive in its own way.
I had planned on hanging in the lounge but I got a text from a friend who asked me to come join her in her apartment. She and a former student of mine were drinking there and she thought it would be fun if I joined them. I alway find these invitation to be a bit intimidating. I don't like to just walk in and catch up with my former students as I never know what kind of relationship we had and I am not interested in rekindling a potential bad relationship.
I just published my 300th post on my blog site. I started it in 2013 and published inconsistently. I made a lot of effort to publish every day in 2015. By covid, I began to publish whenever.
I had another reoccurring school dream.
Trump signed an EO to ban transgender people from serving in the army. He is a draft dodger. Here is today's haiku:
Trump speaks with disdain,
denying their right to be,
cold winds mock his words.
17- M- PA
I had high hopes last night for a productive day. But when I saw that the movie I wanted to see wasn't playing a matinee, the productive went south.
I attempted to clean my bathroom but a clogged drain has made a mess out of my tub and I dont feel like cleaning it.
I came to the lounge. Meghan, Carol and Kristen and I sat around and talked about topics that don't interest me (clothing, make-up, looking hot, etc). I don't fit in with much of the female conversations.
Twitter: On this day where we celebrate our presidents, I would like to remind everyone of the following: #TrumpisaNationalDisgrace #TrumpIsUnfitForOffice #TrumpIsAConvictedFelon #TrumpIsAGlobalLaughingStock #TrumpIsARussianAsset
My haiku on Trump's poor leadership:
Trump stirs up the storm,
Divides with lies and hatred,
Enemy of truth.

OMG, it was cold today. I think it was 28F and windy. The wind went right through me. But, at least, it was sunny. That was just a small gift.
I started my day with a web call to Senator Fetterman, a guy who is getting creepier by the minute. I was with my CARE group and we were asking him to be a champion of foreign aid. We were assured by his spokesperson that he is committed to voting to support federal foreign aid.
In the afternoon, I went to BMFI to see the movie, Best Live Action Short Films. All of these films are up for an academy award. I liked all of them.
I came home and clean a bit and then I went to the fitness center and got my steps in. It was a good, full day.
My haiku topic: Trump's poor relationship with our foreign allies:
Trump sows doubt and fear,
bridges burned with careless words,
allies turn away.
19- W- PA
I slept in too late. I slept really well and then I listen to podcasts and then it was early afternoon. I got up, cleaned a little bit more and drove to Norristown to try out a new brewery. The website listed several good beers. But when I got there, they only had one of their beers and so I ordered it. But the keg has just kicked and there were no beers for me to try. So I left and went to Twelve76 Brewery (5) in Phoenixville. All of their beers were delicious but the flight was so damn expensive and I think I got ripped off on the portions of my beers. I think this will be my only visit there.
My haiku topic: Trump's expensive photo opportunity:
Trump's Air Force One flies,
To Super Bowl, Daytona,
Tax dollars take wing.
20- Th- PA
Clay came to visit me. He had an appointment at Temple Grad School tomorrow. He is interested in their fiancé program and he is also interested in running on thier track/field team. He didn't show up until 7PM so I spent the day trying to clean up for him. But really, I don't care about a clean apartment.
21- F- PA
In the evening, Tricia, Mike, Lauren and I went to Uptown to watch the Oscar Short Documentaries. Most of them were so dark and hard to watch. We certainly have some dreadful places/events/moments/thoughts/behaviors.
OMG, it is so fucking cold today. And the cold makes me cranky and I dont want to go outside. It has to start warming up soon or I am going to lose my mind.
22- SA- PA
Today is International Margarita Day. So Kevin made 1 1/2 gallons of margaritas and we drank every last drop. We started at 3PM and wrapped up the event at 11:30 PM. About 10 of us joined in the festivities and it was fun. After the margarita were gone, I went up to get a few beers to share with the crowd and then I made two additional runs upstairs and a new neighbor went to his apartment and got a bottle of scotch and two bottles of wine. I don't think there was anything left over by the end of the night.
23- SU- PA
Today was International Recovering from Margarita Day. I drank too much.
I hung in the lounge in the afternoon and I did get my steps in and then I went up to my apartment and had a very productive night. I am feeling optimistic that I had turn around my lethargy.
My haiku topic: Trump's laziness:
Golden towers gleam,
Golf cart hums on summer greens—
Tweets replace the work.
24-M- PA
It's 51F today. The sun is out. I am wearing short sleeves. My balcony door is ajar. In two weeks, we will be basking in the joy and anticipation of spring. I can't wait.
J&K stopped by the lounge for a visit.
My new snorkel mask came it. It's an X/Xl and it is still too damn small. Barb was just coming through the lounge as I was trying to secure the straps in hoped that this expansion would improve the fit. But that didn't help but it was fun to laugh until it hurt.
Rich posted on FB that he had a disagreement with a Trumper and just by some of the phrases he used, I knew it was Pete. He's used those phrases on me and he is fighting more and more with people over his conspiracy theories. He's lost in some of his crazy ideas. BUT, he thinks my ideas are crazy and I think they are right.
Twitter: The headlines read: "The US sided with Russia to oppose a UN vote condemning the war on Ukraine on the 3rd anniversary of the illegal invasion." Is there somewhere where we can clarify that so many of us stand with Ukraine? #TrumpIsARussianAsset
My haiku topic: The Eagles Football Team reject Trump's invitation to the WH:
Eagles spread their wings,
White House call they turned away,
Freedom's voice still strong.
25- TU- PA
It was another beautiful day and my door is open again and spring is almost here.
I sat in the lounge and Gina joined me and then the Indian woman and her granddaughter came by and we chatted each other up quite a bit. Pam stopped by to give me a bottle of beer that she likes And just as they were leaving, Kristen stopped by and we tried a beer that Pam gave me. And that was how I spent the afternoon.
I went back to my apartment and sat down and read a book. Since 2010, I have stopped reading books. I have ben listening to audiobooks and I read on social media every day, all day. But after I had a puff-back with my furnace in 2010, I lost my reading chair and I have not replaced it and I stopped reading literature. I want to get back to that habit. I loved to read stories from around the world. The book I am reading now is a book that I have been laboring for three years now. I have to finish this damn bilk. And I have to get in the habit of reading every day.
And then I submitted another Amazon review of the bible. I wonder if this one will be taken down as the last one was. I received feedback that my review did not meet community norms.
And then I went to the fitness center and got my steps in for the day. it was a pretty good day.
Twitter: This is a reflection of Trump's vigilante world of justice. We should all prepare to expect more of this behavior. AND, we need to step up and speak up. The silence from the audience was deafening. #StopViolenceAgainstWomen
Twitter: We are slowly losing our freedom of speech and our "right to know" as a federal judge denied the AP's request to allow its reporters to resume covering the WH after they were banned because they referred to the “Gulf of Mexico”. #TrumpisaNationalDisgrace
My haiku topic: MAGAs reaction to an increase in pharmacy costs:
Costs rise, hope slips fast,
Seniors bear the heavy weight,
Promises are lost.
26- W- PA
I started the day with a facial. I joined a membership program what offers a facial a month. I'm hoping this will help my stress which has been through the roof since the November election.
In the evening, there was a board game party. I didn't play any games but I chatted up quite a few people.
My haiku topic: the new gold card that Trump is pushing for $5,000,000:
“Golden cards for wealth,
A plan to sell dreams and gold,
Rich hearts grow colder.”
27- TH- PA/NJ
My haiku topic: Musk ran the first cabinet meeting and trump scrolled on his phone, in disinterest.
Trump yawns in his seat,
Elon steers the meeting’s course—
Silence fills the room.
Tonight was Mason's bday party. He is 14 years old and could probably start shaving. I am working diligently to get him to see me as his ally. While he has not yet hugged me, he will now first bump me. Small beginning.
I had a conversation in the lounge with Pete. He may not be MAGA but he is very close to it. We see the world completely different and it is so frightening to hear him talk about crazy conspiracies. He thinks China and the USA are working together to make viruses to kill Americans.
28- F- PA
It's the last day of my winter months dread. I'm ready for March and spring and a rebirth.
On the world stage, the orange idiot embarrassed us and just about sided with Putin in his efforts to bring peace in Ukraine. I am embarassed to be an american.
Kristen and I went to Ironhill for Happy hours. When some of her friends arrived about an hour later, I went back to pick up Pete at CS to go to the LA Firefighter's Fundraiser. But Pete wasnt feeling well so we just decided not to go. Pete offered me his pre-purchased ticket but I wasn't comfrotable in going alone. So I went back to my apartment and wasted the evening away.
Haiku Topic: Trump's irresponsibly abandons our allies:
“Power plays unfold,
Promises fade in cold winds,
Allies left strained.”
Haiku topic: The range idiot's loyalty to Putin:
