1- W- PA
It's New Years Day, a day that is freeing and heavy at the same time. It is freeing because I know longer have to talk about Christmas but heavy because winter is here to stay for too long. I went to the lounge, found friends and we watched the Mummers' Parade on TV. That parade is dying. There were more people in the parade than in the audience. And the parade is 9 hours long. I think my parents took me to this parade when I was around 8, more than 60 years ago.
I went to the fitness center and got my steps in.
2- TH- PA/DE
I got up to a freezing cold apartment and thought that I am finally going to have to break down and turn on the heat. Ive been so proud of the fact that I haven't had to put the heat on for the last seven years. I was quite surprised when I went in to the living room and saw that my balcony door was wide open. It was 53F in my apartment. I was cold.
I got up and headed to Bombay Hook Wildlife refuge to see the migration of the snow geese. People have been posting great photos of the birds on the Delaware Birding site and I was excited to see them as it has been two years since the birds have been around in abundance. But they were nowhere to be seen today except for a small group, maybe 500 birds at most.
Afterwards I went to Brick and Brew(1) for a flight. I had four delicious IPAs and a great sandwich. There isn't much atmosphere here but the beers were good.

Today is the beginning of my two weeks of doctor appointments. I started with a breast MRI and then went off to the dermatologist to have a biopsy on a sore on my arm. The doctor thinks it is probably cancerous so I will have a minor procedure in his office some time in the future.
4- SA- PA
I did nothing today. I was invited to join a group of people here to go drinking all day but I don’t like to hang with this crowd. They drink too much. They drop too much money. They order too much food and waste it and they hang at bars that I don’t like. So I hide in my apartment all day to avoid them.
I did, however, get my steps in so it was not a complete waste of a day.
And I introduced Tricia to AI. She is revamping her resume and needed some help.
I got my steps in today.
5- SU- PA
It was a beautiful, sunny day and a winter storm looms ahead of us today. So I was determined to get up and do something constructive today. I went to two breweries in NJ. My first stop was the 13th Child Brewery.(2) I had a flight of two IPAs and two stouts. Then I went off to the Axe and the Arrow Brewery (3) and had four delicious beers and the bartender had me try two more beers and I liked them as well. I liked both places.
6-M- PA
I had another damn reoccurring school dream last night. I have had this same nuisance dream for 14 years now.
It's Heather's 42nd birthday today. How can that be. She was just a sweet, little girl yesterday.
It snowed through the night and schools were off and my dr appointment was cancelled and I slept in and wandered around my apartment, do mostly nothing and wondering where the time goes. I did make it to the lounge and hang with Betty and JoJo for a bit.
It's the 4th anniversary of the Insurrection of 2020. Today, Kamala Harris verified the presidential election and no one challenged the votes. This is how democracy is supposed to work.
I got my steps in today.

OMG, it is freezing today!
I had an oncology appointment today and the NP confirmed that there is no cancer. That is what I expected to hear and I have no fear that my cancer will return but it is still nice to hear her worlds.
I came back and putzed around my apartment until I got a text from Betty that she and Scott were up for drinking more of my pumpkin beer. We met in the lounge, Barb joined us and we went through 13 different kings of beer. It was an enjoyable evening.

OMG, it was freezing today!
I had my eye exam and it couldn't come soon enough. It's been so hard to read with these glasses. The Dr said my left eye has gotten worse. My cataracts are growing. My eye lid needs plastic surgery. And the woman who fitted me for new glasses said I have a stigmatism and I should always wear my sunglasses when I am outside. So I ordered transitional glasses which should really help me out.
In other news, the orange idiot has not even taken office and he has alienated Canada, Denmark (Greenland) and Panama. He sent his cocaine son to Denmark to negate a deal to buy Greenland. He thinks we need this island for national defense. He is a fucking idiot.

We had an MMA dinner at a Thai restaurant in Ardmore. We are a bunch of old broads. I show everyone my new hearing aides. I think I am the first to get them. And everyone cheered for me and congratulated me for stepping in to another moment that confirms how old we are.

I got up and went to my hearing aid appointment.
11- SA
I am sick in bed. I woke up with a dry throat that was throbbing.
12- SU-PA
I'm still sick.
Aunt Jo died this morning, Pam sent me a text. She was 93 and had been near death for more than two years now. She has been on hospice and had 24 hour care which cost $20,000/month.
13-M-PA
I'm in bed, sick and feeling sorry for myself. I can't eat anything. I have no appetite.
14-TU- PA
I'm still sick. I had to cancel my Prolia shot.
15- W- PA
I was sick all day and stayed in bed.
I had to cancel my brunch outing with the Maggs. We were going to go to brunch and eat eggs Benedict. I was able to rise up, get dressed, go to the deli and order two egg sandwiches and then go and get some more, stronger medicine at the Acme. All of this activity worn me out.
16- TH- PA
I'm still not well. I had to cancel my dentist appointment.
I had a tough night of sleep as nothing would get me to sleep. I took the PM version of my cough suppressant and that didn't make me drowsy so I took a gummy and that didn't seem to help the situation either. But then I did finally get to 10 AM in a flash but I wasn't rested.
Just as I was about to nod off to sleep, my email notification went off. I had turned that notification option off years ago. And tonight, it went off just as I was surrendering to self. So I stayed up another two hours, scrolling the internet.
It snowed throughout the day and everything looked beautiful but I stayed inside.
17- F- PA
I started the day with a CPAP appointment. The NP was a bit annoyed when I told her that I take THC gummies. She doesn't recommend it but understands that this is my decision to make.
Afterwards, I went to get brunch. Last night, I constantly ruminated about what I would order once I started eating again. So when I sat down at the Rolling Stars Cafe, I ordered a large toasted bagel with butter, a big lox and bagel board and a pastrami on pumpernickel bagel. I had full intentions of taking most of this home with me but it was a feast to see it all spread out there in one tiny table.

I am still struggling with my respiratory situation and I have no damn energy. I have to get my sorry ass to a doctor.
19- SU- PA
There is a big eagles game today and I waited until late afternoon to watch the final quarter in the lounge and by the time I got down there, the game was over. We won, everyone is happy and now we are one step closer to going to the Super Bowl.
20- M- PA
I finally got to the doctor and she put me on three different medicines. That should do it.
It's Inaugural Day and a sad day for America. I hate that orange idiot.
21-T U- PA
I'm finally not coughing which has been an annoyance for the last 10 days.
I had a dental appointment and again, it is recommended that I get a new cap on one of my root canals. They have been making this recommendation for over 1 1/2 years now and we have never gotten any closer to making that happen.
My new eye gasses came in today and they seem lighter than my current frames. They are also transitional so I will not need my sunglasses any more. While I was there at Costco to pick up my glasses, I picked up too much food so now I have to check my freezer door to make sure the door hasn't popped open because it is so full.

My dermatologist got back to me and my skin biopsy came back benign so that is some good news.
I am feeling better today. I am not coughing as much but I still lack energy.
A dog defecated right outside my apartment. This is the second or third time this has happened in the last few months. I am stunned at how thoughtless some people can be.
23- TH- PA
I had a CPAP training session today. This machine is killing me. I want to give it up but the respiratory person showed me that I am getting very good results from my limited time of being tortured with this machine.
In the evening, I went to Ironhill Brewery (4) with Kristen and her friend, Ann. Ann told me that she has a friend that has been to 1000 breweries and I wanted to tell her that wasn't true because I would diligently to get to as many breweries as I can and I only have 410 on my list. But then I decided just to shut up because who cares what bullshit she chooses to spread.

I just hung in my apartment and did a lot of nothing. I can really waste time.
25- SA- PA
Jaye and Dom picked me up at 9:30AM and we headed to Sharon and Glenn's cabin for the day. The others went for a long walk in the woods in the freezing cold weather and I stayed home and listened to my audiobook. As I was looking out the window, a bobcat just wandered in to my view.
26- SU- PA
After breakfast, we headed to camp to watch the Women's Basketball team. This would be my first time at the Bryce Jordan Center and I looked forward to the moment. We were ahead all through the game and then we fell abaft at the last 3 minutes. What a disappointment.
We drove home, listening to the Eagles's game. We won and now we are headed off to the Super Bowl in a few weeks.
27- M- PA
It's too cold and grey to go outside today. So I am hanging in the lounge. I am going to start a series of AI haiku poems about the orange idiot. I posted my first one today:
