Where Is He Now

• He is 10 in this photo. Today, he is 24.

• When he was 16 and a junior in high school, he had a full beard.  That's something unusual for a high school boy. 

• He became an Eagle Scout right before his 18th birthday. 

• He joined the army when he was 18 and just out of high school.  During his first week of training, he collapsed in the heat while he was marching with a 70 pound back pack. He was rushed to the hospital where it was discovered that he had a hidden heart condition and had to have heart surgery.  He also broke his jaw, lost 3 or 4 front teeth, injured his wrist and knee and maybe broke a rib or two. He got patched up and the Army kissed him goodbye and sent him home.

• He got a job right away and put himself through community college and then transferred to VA Tech where he graduated with a BS in Mechanical Engineer.

• He became involved with a church in North Carolina and serves in some sort of capacity.  He is also teaching at a local community college while he looks for a professional job. But his focus is really based around this church. I want his focus to be around getting a great job as a mechanical engineer. But what I want is not in the cards (as it should be).
