Birthday Goal #67
67 New Places
in West Chester, PA
July 8, 2022- July 9, 2023
Every year, I like to set some sort of goal for my birthday every year. I try to set a goal around some aspcet of my life or my personality. This year, I am going to expand my horizons in my neightborhood. I've lived here for 5 years and I have limited myself to just a few places to eat, drink, hang, explore. So this year, I am going to 67 new places in my hood.
Here they are:
1- Marshall Street Park- Concert In The Park- - i dont know why it has taken me so long to go to one of these concerts. Its a great way to enjy the evening.
2- New Haven Pizza- Pizza- this is a good place to come for a variety of pizza dishes.
3- Tea Smoothie- this was refreshing
4- Turks Head Cafe- Green Smoothie- - delicious and very reasonable. But they use paper straws so I will have to bring my own straw if i go back.
5- Rai Rai Ramen Noodle- Chicken Barbaque- - I wish I had gotten the noodles rather than the chicken barbacue which was delicious. I've had this dish before. I played it safe which is the anthithesis of this goal.
6- Benny's Pizza- Stromboli-- the stromboli was huge and good but I don't think I will go back to this place.
7- Kung Fu Tea- Cocoa Cream Bubble Tea- - OMG, my tea was dreadful. It was so damn sweet that I could barely drink it. i doubt I will go back but I have to be mindful of this if I do go back.
8- Morelos Restaurant- Grilled Steak Chimchanga and a grilled Shrimp Taco- OMG, my food was so damn tasty.
9- King's Garden- Chinese food- - the food was good, not great.
10- Dolce Zola Restaurant- chicken piccata- it was delicious.
11- WXPN- Shemeaka Copeland- Free At Noon Concert- I did go to one of these concerts before as someone's guest. I have ordered tickets before but, at the last minute, I was too lazy to go. So this was the first time I actually ordred tickets and went. I asked fove people to join me and none of them could. But I was determeiend to go, even on myown and now, it will be easier to go the next time.
12- Timothy's Cafe- the place is boring. the food is nondescript. The service was mediocre. I cant imagine why anyone goes here to eat.
13- Westminister Thrift Store- the place smells. It was filled with junk and it gave me the creeps. Maybe I'll bring some of my junk here for them to sell.
14- El Limon Mexican Resturant. I am not sure if this is affiliated with the chain store of the same name. But this food is much beeter and more resonibale. I liked it.
15- Barbaque in the courtyard- after being here for 5 years, I finally used the grill in the courtyrad. A groupd of us got together and had dinner. I broght shrimp and corn on the cob to grill. We had smoked salman and saugage and way too much to eat. It was great fun.
16- Mexican Grocery Store- I think I have been in this store before but nothing seemed familiar. I wonder if it cold be under new ownership. Anyway, I liked it and would have bought things but I didn't have a back pack on me and I didnt want to carry my goods. So I will go back there.
17- Jersey Mike's- a medicore hoagie shop, comparable to Subway. I have no interest in going there again.
18- Tires Inc- I tried a new store for my car maintenance and I'm not sure I want to go back to them. But I am mad at AAA at the moment so I went elsewhere for service. Now I have to decide if I swallow my pride and go back to AAA or find another place to do business.
19- Rolling Star- breakfast place near WAWA- I just recently saw this place and I checked it out and liked it. I had eggs benedict, a huge toasted egg bagel and a large cup of coffee.
20- Zazen Nail Spa- For the first time in my life, I gt my nails manicured professionally.
21- The West Chester Halloween Parade- After a two year Covid hiatus, the Halloween Parade was back and I finally made it out of my apartment to see it. Now I want to be in it. I asked the Germans if they would consider asking their kids to be parrt of it next year.
22- Atexquinta Resturant- for a delicious Mexican quesadilla.
23- Michi sushi resturant- I overordered and everything was delicious.
24- Bon Chon- no thanks

26- christmas decorations- I went out several tmes to see them and they did not seem spectaular to me.
27- christmas parade- I think you need to bring a kid to a christmas parade. Otherwise, its a bit dull.
28- Jake's bar- I've wanted to cme to this place for 5 years now and the moment did not disappoint me. I've been back a few times since then.
29- Belvin deli - good prices, good variety good service. I'll come back.
30- Two Bird Cafe- nice place, good service, difficult parking so it isn't worth it for me to come back.
31- DK Diner- This is a true 1950's diner and I don't think anything has been updated since this time. The food was good but they only accept cash and I am suspicious of business who dont take credit. It's too easy to hid profit and pay less taxes and that pisses me off.
32- oil change- I got great, quick service here.
33- Pine and Quill- everything in here was beautiful, expensive and a dust collector. I didnt and won't buy anything here.
34- China Palace restaurant- my shrimp steamed dumplings and pork egg roll were delicious.

38- First Pour @ Jake's Bar- we got up and were at the bar by 7:45 AM and were first to order a beer for the day.
39- Riggtown Oven- we ordered breakfast here and eat it at Jake's with our first pour. I had an egg, bacon and cheese bagel and it was delicious.
40- Pete's Express car wash- I liked this place becasue I could drive through the machine nad not do any work.
41-ACE hardware store- This store is a throw back from the 1960's and I think some of the inventory is from that era as well.
42- DF Mexican store- I picked up a few pieces of round bread.
43- DF La Rancherita Mexican Resturant- I didnt really like this place.
44- May Day cafe- this is a new place. It had a nice vibe abd good food.
45-Gryphon coffee shop- I dont like the vibe in this place.
46-Amore pasta- my pasta dish was delicious and it was so plentiful that I got two more meals out of it.
47- Let’s Roll- OMG, this place makes biscuit size pizza rolls. I had one with bacon, mushrooms and carmeized onions.
48- Friends' Cemetery- sad and forgotten
49- Chestnut Grove Cemetery- sad and forgotten
50- 4th floor balcony- it's too hot and sunny. There are no nearby restroom and the furniture is so uncomfortable.
51- pool courtyard- I should come here more often; it's quiet, shady and comfortable.
52- Blazin J’s Chicken- my sandwich was better than I thought it was going to be but I dont think I will go back there again.
53- Artisitc Eyewear- now I know why I go to Costco for my eyeglasses. I brought my own farms that cost $300 and the lenses are going be between $500 to $700. !!!OUCH
54- Taco Maro- I had a delicious burrito.
55- High Street Cafe- I only had an appitizer but it was very good and the service was outstnding and the prices were good so I am going to come back to this place.
56- Santino Resturant- we just stopped in for an after dinner drink so I will have to come back. The wait person was great.
57- Eclat Chocolate store- Damn, this store is expensive; $12 for four pieces of candy.
58- Swharmi Resturant- I didn't like it and won't go back.
59- jewerly store- the guy wanted $120 to fix my tiny ring.
60- Jaco Taco- my breakfast quesidea was delicious.
61- Adrianna's Cafe- it appears as if only women come to this place to eat. It's danity and feminine. And my chicken salad sandwich was delicious.
62- American Pizza- I had a bacon, cheese and adovaco grinder.
63- Burgers, Breast and Fries- I had a delicious Texas Tommy Hotdog which was a full meal.
64- West Chester Diner- this is a sad, dying diner. The food was good and reasonable.
