Road Trip #2023-01

Road Trip #2023-01

With Clay

Colorado

January 2- 10, 2023

Our first stop was to Bill's Hot Dogs Cafes were we tried 5 different hot dogs and took three back to the hotel with us.  Among a variety of dogs, we tried the kobe beef dog and the elk saga.

Clay meet up with Nick, an athletic trainer, to talk about attitude sickness, prevention and recovery methods.

One evening, we went to the Dakota Hot Springs.  The water was lovely and warm.  The air was freezing.

On a beautiful, sunny, chilly afternoon, we took the Royal Gorge Train Ride.  It was stunning.

We meet up with Andy at his work place in Denver.

I met up with KT and we headed north. Clay went off with Andy.

KT and I spent an afternoon at the Iron Mountain Hot Springs, drinking beer and looking at the magnificent snowcapped mountains.

We went to the TommyKnocker Brewery for dinner and closed down the place.  But, truthfully, the place closed at 8 PM.

The traffic to Glenwood Springs was bumper to bumper and treacherous. I had to get car rental upgrade to tackle the pending snow storm.

We went to the Bottle and Barrell Brewery on Sunday for lunch.  After KT left and headed back home, I went to the OHM Brewery..

I wanted Clay to see the Red Rocks Ampitheatre. It's under construction so we had to park down at the bottom and walk up and down a bit.  I wanted to park up top and let Clay roam around as he wished.

Clay wanted to see what Boulder looked like. He is thinking of going out there this summer.

We ended the trip with a drive through Colorado Wildlif Refuge to see the bison. And we saw bison.
