 Beer Fact #14

• Beer is one of the oldest beverages in the world, dating back to 5000BC. (source unknown, I just read it on the internet so it must be true).

Other than water, I wonder what beverage may be older than beer. And how does anyone know this fact? And I am going to go out on a limb and specualte that this early beer was dreadful as compared to today's beer. 

I've had butter beer from England and banana beer from Tanzania.  Both of these beers are old recipes and, in my humble opinion, these reciepes should be put to rest as they are not tasty, satisfying beers.
