Bridget Kelly for State Senate
District 35, MD
November 2014
In 2014, I ran for state senate in Maryland. I didn't make it but i enjoyed the ride. Here is a message from my website:
WHY AM I RUNNING FOR STATE SENATE?
I have been asked this question a lot lately and rightfully so. Are you tired of self-serving politicians who enter office and then never leave? Fed up with politicians who serve their own needs rather than yours? Frustrated with politicians who use your hard-earned money without transparency and accountability? So am I! I’m Bridget Kelly, and that’s why I am running for state senate in District 35.
I am a public servant, not a politician. In office, I will continue to focus on the principles I used as a high school administrator: community, compromise, consensus and commitment.
Every voice matters—every voice heard.
Throughout my career I worked to anticipate needs and solve problems. I will do the same when I am in Annapolis, advocating and negotiating for each of us. I will work to keep government close to the people, reducing unfunded mandates, minimizing governmental redundancy and remaining accessible. I am not looking for a career in politics, I’m looking to step up and serve.
