A Message to Women
Bridget Kelly for State Senate
District 35, MD
November 2014
In 2014, I ran for state senate in Maryland. I didn't make it but I enjoyed the ride. Here is a message from my website:
A Message to Women
Women’s roles are unique in society. Whether as daughter, sister, spouse, mother, we provide much of the support and guidance for our immediate and extended families. How effectively we perform these roles has a great impact on the quality of our life and the communities we live in. Our legislators must hear our voice to address our concerns.
When women vote, candidates win. When women vote for women, there is a greater understanding about what matters to women: fair pay, control of their healthcare, protection from sexual assault and domestic violence and a greater understanding of what it takes to be a working mother.
As a woman and a potential legislator, I support:
equal pay for equal work;
a woman’s right to make her own decisions about her healthcare;
zero tolerance for abuse of women and children;
Pre-K programs and quality education for all of our children.
I hear you and will be there for us.
Can I count on you for your vote in November?
