Road Trip 2021-#4
PA to VA
April 22-25, 2021
- Clay ran in a VA state race for the 3 1/4 mile race and he came in 2nd. We were thrilled. He was disappointed.
- Cindy's parents joined us. They are in their 80s and they look great.
- On the way home from the tracheostomy's meet, we stopped for dinner. I treated. There were 8 of us and the bill was only $80. I couldn't believe it. That's the beauty of hanging around with people who dont drink too much.
- We went to lunch at a tiny general store in MiddleBrook and had Alabama Camp Stew which tasted like a minestrone but with chicken, pork and beef.
- Cindy's wallet was stolen in a McDonald's bathroom and it filled all of us with anger.
- We visited two breweries- Red Beard Brewing Company and Skipping Rock Brewery. I liked the 2nd place better and I ordered two flights there.
- Brian taught me how to cut wood for a wood burning stove. And that job is not meant for someone weakling like me.
- All three boys were home and this is the first time they all seemed like me to me. Of course, they re all taller than me. But they have moved on to their adult lives and don't find me as interesting as they did when they were younger.
- The Shenandoah Valley is gorgeous at this time of year.
