Beer Fact - The Birth of the IPA
When England ruled the world, or at least, when they controlled India, they would ship pale ales across the seas from England to India. By the time this ale made it to land, it was a bit skunky. To resolve this terrible problem the English beer masters began to put a bit more hops in to these exported ales as a means to preserve them. Hence, that's the difference between a pale ale and an Indian Pale Ale (IPA) and the birth of a great, great beer option.
