Susanna's Response to Me

Susanna's Response to Me

SIAS University

Henan Province, China

Spring 2012

Last month, I  came back from China where I was teaching global leadership skills to college women in Sias University. Last week I received an email for call to action from the MOVE ON.org group.  In light of the facts that we had been talking about human rights, I sent this notice to several of my Chinese students.  Susanna’s response is below the email notice:

EMAIL NOTICE: You may not know his name, but my friend Liu Xiaobo is a global icon for freedom. He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2010 for his long and non-violent struggle for fundamental human rights. Today, this hero remains in jail, as China's most famous political prisoner.  Xiaobo is serving an 11-year term for his activism demanding that the Chinese government make his country more democratic and make its courts more independent. His wife, who has never been convicted of any crime, is under house arrest. This is not just.

EMAIL RESPONSE FROM SUSANNA (my student) :  I trust my government, I agree with my government what they did”.
