Internet Scam

October 6, 2016

Ok, I need suggestions. I've received several bogus requests from friends claiming to be in Asia with no money. I wrote back to one with what I thought was a sarcastic response. That person wrote back and gave me a specific location as to where to send $2250. What government agency should I contact to report this information?

  • Report it to Facebook. They should take care of it.
    • I'm looking for someone who could arrest them.

    • Then I'd contact the government of that address and give them their address.

    • Completely! Payment required up front - Target Gift Cards or Starbucks Coffee Gift Cards will do. Cash will work if that's easier.

  • Bridget, I am currently trapped in Sciota, PA with no money. No lie; you can check it out. If you send me a blank check, I'll make sure I don't go overboard. Honest. You can trust me. 🙂

    • Since I'm also in Sciota it would be easiest for Dr.
      Kelly
to send two signed blank checks to your residence - one for each of us to use wisely. I'll be sure to stop by to pick mine up from you, Mr. Steen. 👍🏻

    • I'm making light of the situation but I completely understand your concerns. Not everyone is able to pick up on a scam like you have. I've received scam emails and phone calls but have never done anything other than ignore them. Kudos to you for trying to put an end to this.

    • I'm having a little too much fun with it. I've been emailing the guy throughout the day and leading him on. He actually gave me a way to contact him. I hope the FBI caught him.
