Indiana

Indiana

1974- The first trip I ever took by myself.  I went to South Bend to see my sister at Notre Dame. My sisiter was one of the first owmen to be accepted in to Notre Dame in 1972. So I wen to visit her during her senior year.  At the time, I was going to a junior college in Wilmington, DE so this univeristy overwhelmed me. It was beautiful.

2006- I came back to South Bend to watch the Penn State vs Notre Dame football game.  Both teams had not played each other in a number of years so the game got lots of press.  Several family members and I went to the game to cheer on Penn State and we got our asses kick and it was a miserable day.

2021- In October, I left Philly and drove to Chicago to pick up the Route 66 highway. I was going to drive all 3200 miles of this road.  That first night, I stopped in Indiana for the night and had trouble getting a hotel room.  I forgot about Notre Dame football.  Every thing was booked for two hours out of South Bend.  But I did find a hotel and the next afternoon, I found a great brewery and had a flight of beer and braved the football traffic and made my way to Chicago.
