As I travel, I always notice that women carry the heavy loads.  Men have access to motorcycles and bikes.  So it's easier for them to haul things.  But women do not have this same access.  they have to carry these loads as best they can.  Mostly, they carry these loads on their heads doing permanent damage to their necks and spines.

when I stayed in a home in Haiti, I was told that I could have as much bath water as I wanted since I was the honored guest: a white woman from America.  If I used my allotted amount, the crippled 70 year old grandmother was assigned to fetch more water for me.  When I looked at her broken body and saw her eagerness to please me, I made sure I did everything I could to use less than my allotted about of water.  This woman was not going to fetch to accommodate me.
