Life Isn't Fair

Life Isn't Fair
Madras, India
Spring 1994

OMG, some people work too damn hard.  It was hot.  The sun was intense and they worked mostly in this stooped position.  They were wrapped in too much clothing.  There was nowhere to receive yourself or wash your hands and face.  The sweat rolling down their faces and backs just had to be tolerated.  They worked for hours: from dawn to dusk, seven days a week.  And yet, they still live a life that lingers around poverty.

When I hear people say "Life isn't fair", I think of this moment and these women who work this hard every day just to feed their children.  Yes, life isn't fair.
