I love beer. I love to sit in a bar and drink beer and talk with friends and tell stories and watch the crowd and drink more beer. And with the burst of craft beers around the country, this way to spend the afternoon has just become so much more pleasant to me. Now, I love to try samples (flights) of beers and then engage in discussion on which of the beers are the most favorable. I love the variety and the subtle differences in taste. I love sharing a flight and I love the satisfaction of trying something new. So I go to 5 or 6 new breweries every year now.
But on this day, I went back to one of my favorite breweries, DuClaw's. This brewery always has at least 14 beers on tap at any time. Today it had 16 and my niece had just turned 21 so she was so damn excited to join me on this endeavor to finish this flight. There was a man who sat across the bar form us and he threw out a few obnoxious male chauvinistic comments about women's ability to consume large quantities of beer. And we took great delight as we proved him wrong.
