Nose bleeds

Nose Bleeds
Fall, 2024

I never had a nose bleed, my whole life. But one day, I just bled and bled and bled. I couldn't believe it. And then it stopped so I went on my way.  That was a Sunday.

Then on Wednesday, I was out driving and my nose started to bleed again. I pulled over and tried to stop it and it seemed to slow down a bit so I drove on. But then I had to pull over again because I just had blood everywhere: on the steering wheel, on my blouse, on my dash board. and I couldn't stop the bleeding. I drove to Urgent Care but it was closed for the day.  I called my friend who is a nurse and asked her if it was too extreme to go the emergency room for a silly nose bleed. She told me to go.  But I was just bleeding too much to drive so I sat there and pieced my nose until it stopped.

I sent a message to my NP, asking her if there was something I should or could do to prevent these bleeds.  She didn't respond for a few days and told me that were probably allergy related and just get some nose stray.

Three days later, I had three nose bleeds in one evening. I called an ENT and made an appointment for the next week.

Then I went to visit my niece and her  family and had two wild nose bleeds on a Sunday morning.  She wanted me to go to the hospital and I just wanted to get home. So I took off as soon as the bleed stopped. And when I got home, I felt that this was the end of the nose bleeds.  I thought now that I have this doctor's appointment, it wouldn't happen again. But I had a bleed that night.

The next day, the doctor looked up my nose and told me that I had a big cut up my nose.  He just came over to me and sprayed inside my nose, stuck a hot rod up there and cauterized the cut. It was over in a few seconds but the procedure unversed me. And my nose is no longer bleeding.
