Covid Cases Are Up

What a Surprise!

PA/DE/NJ

1- W- PA

Even though the pool opened up 10 days ago, we are having our pool party today. And it was fun.  I hung with about 8 people and we just sat around and tried out different beers.  Mike talked about having a party this summer.  He would bring his smoker. I'm going to bring two big salmon fillets.  Rich is bringing brisket and Jeff said he would bring ribs.  And we arent going to ask management if this is OK with them because we know they will say no.

2- TH- PA

I bought an Anderondeck chair at long last at costco.  It only cost $135 as compared to the Amish furniture maker who wanted $375. But now, I have get this heavy thing up to my apartment from my car and to put the damn thing together.

It was Gabe's 21st birthday today so Debbie had a fun surprise party for him at Lemoncello.

3- F- PA

I had another reoccuring work dream but this one was not as hostile as so many of the past dreams.

I worked on my chair and I just don't have the right tools which is making this task even harder that it has to be.  My inadequate screw driver is stripping the screws and rendering them useless.

4- SA- PA

Lauren invited me to lunch to day to talk about her wedding.  Her mom and her bridesmaid, Amada, joined us as well. It was nice to meet Amanda after hearing so many nice things about her from Lauren.  Lauren's wedding in December should be fun.

5- SU- PA

I called Jaye to see if she wanted to go to a music festival here in West Chester.  I thought for sure she would say no bt to my surprose, she jumped on the opportunity.  She came right over and got me and off we went.  She told me that she has been saying no to so many things that she has to make an effort to get out more.  So, off we went and it was fun.  We got a good parking spot.  We found a place to sit under the shade.  We wandered around a bit and the music was good.

Afterwards, we went to visit her friends, the Kanes.  They just bought a big home on the edge of town and they were working there today.  They move in on July 5.

The germans arrived today for two weeks. they are staying at Sue's house.  Im looking forward to these next two weeks.

6- M- PA

I had the funniest dream about a dog who was almost human.  He was hysterical.

I spent the afternoon, working on my damn chair. The paarts are heavy.  My tools are inadequate and I dont have enough strength and patience to complete this task.  This is talking too damn long to put together.  It should have only taken me one hour to do this and now I am on my fourth day.

In the evening, I went to Sue's house and had dinner with the Germans.  They brought me three beers and I bought them a few beers. And it was fun to catch up after a two year pandemic.

7- TU- PA

I got rid of 6 bags of junk. I dropped them off at Green Drop. And I still have maybe 100 more to go before my aprtment doesnt look so damn cluttered.

I ran off to the movies to see Montana Story.  When I was growing up, I thought all kids came from healthy families. The older I get, the more I discover that healthy families may not be the majority of families.  This family, in this movie, was fucked up and maybe almost unbelaieveable but then again, very believable.

8- W- PA

My doctor appointement was cancelled for today so now I feel as if a free day has just been handeld to me.

I sent yet another package off to Jameson who is still on a secret mission in Kenya.  This is the thrid box in two months.

My chair is finished to the point that I can sit on it and it won't fall apart.  I have to get someone in who is stronger than me to tighten up all of the bolts and screws before it falls apart on me.

I had just arrived at the lounge in the evenoing when Debbie and Jeff showed up.  It was Jeff's 67th birthday so now he is older than me at the moment and  that drives him crazy becasue he likes to think he is still young and happening.  We went to the Square Bar for drinks.

9- TH-PA

Since Martin is a guitar nut, we decided to take a road trip to Nazareth to visit the Martin Guitars factory.  Martin and Sue were able to take the tour.  Kirsten and I visited the museum and then hungin the parking lot and chatted and caught up on the last two years.

The Insurrection Hearings began and the presentation of infromation was riveting. It was over two hours and every sentence was important.  I am exhausted from listening so intently.

10- F- PA/DE

I had a morning dentist apppointment.  I always like to see those people.  My dental hygienst is an SHS gradudate so we spent too much time comparing notes and stories.  I was probably in there twice as long as I needed to be.

In the evening, a group of us drove to Newark, DE to listen to a former student play at a bar.  We've wanted to see him for a number of years.  So it was fun to finally make it happen.

11- SA- PA

In the morning, I went to Kevin's brother's funeral in Chester, PA. His brother went missing a few weeks back and he laid in the police morgue for awhile before he could be identified.

After that, I drove to South Jersey to watch Mason's baseball championship.  His team won and Mason was thrilled.

On the way home, I stopped at a few beer outlets to find a variety of single cans of beer.  I am storing up for our trip to the beach this week.

Tweet: Trump is in a manic panic about the #J6Hearings. He is posting rebuttals like crazy. His panic brings me great pleasure!

12- SU- PA

Several local brewereis came togethre and had a Beer fest in Berwyn. It was raining in the morning.  But by the time we got there, the sun was shining.  Bill and Pat joined us and we really enjoyed each other's company.

Kirsten to me that Martin said, "Bill and Bridget are good Americans.  When I get back to German, I'm going to tell them that there are good Americans."

Tweet: Under the Republican Party, gas prices have reached an all new high because they would not vote for a bill to limit price gouging.

13- M- PA

I was up and ready to go to listen to the 2nd round of the Insurrection Hearings. I watched in the lounge and just like the first hearing, these testimonies were shocking.  Trump has fucked up our democracy for years to come. And his inner circle is turing on him.

Tweet: He took the advice from a drunk guliano!! 😅😂🤣😂😅😂🤣😅

Tweet response: Protecting our children should not be political.

14- TU- PA

It's a gorgeous day.  I should be at the beach today.  I hope my next three days will be just as beautiful.

I am still avoiding Steve but he has a gift for me. He went to Maine and brought back some beer for me. Now he wants to get together to give it to me.

I went to BMFI to see a movie, Eifel.  It was the story of the torbulent efforts to build the tower.

I spoke with Jaye.  Mark and his family are coming in for a week.

I also spoke with Ruth.  She retires from SHS tomorrow after 39 years.  And she is ready to go.

In the evening, I got ready to go to the beach. That means emptying out my car with all of the junk in it. I am taking the Germans to LBI for the next two days.

15- W- PA/NJ

We left for the beach around noon.  We couldn't get in to our hotel until 3 but we knew we had to make a stop at WAWA along the way.  We had to stop for Martin.  He isnt quite sucked in to the WAWA cult.  At first, he thought the stop was a bit unnecesary. But when he saw all of the shopping options, he chanegd his tune.  He told me that this would bethe perfect place if they sold CBD items as well.

We headed to the beach, set up our chairs and popped open a few beers.  The sun was bright.  There was a slight breeze.  Few people were on the beach so we had lots of space and the moment was exhilarating.

We had trouble finding a place to eat dinner.  We went to three resturanst before we finally got seated.  I ordered fried calamari and seared sesame seed tuna. OMG, it was delicious.  I took some of the tuna home with me and ate it a few hours later and it was just as delicious.

We sat on the beach for a long as we could.  But then it just became too cold and windy.

It was a great day at the beach. I love to sit on the beach and just get lost in my thoughts.

16- TH- NJ

It was raining in the morining so we decided to tout the island after breakfast at our beleoved Uncle Will's Pancake House. I had the Banana strawberry French toast with rum sauce.  OMG, it was delicious.  I wanted to lick my plate.

Martin and Kirsten wanted tee shirts so we ran across the street to a soveneioir shop.  As we entered the vestibule, we saw that this had become a Trump store. It was so offensive that none of us said anything.  We just shook our heads and walked out.

Kirsten suggested that we stop in at the Ship Bottom Brewery (1) for a quick flight. And I thought that was a good idea.

The sun was out so we ran back to the hotel and headed back to the beach and again, just enjoyed every minute. After a few hours, we made our way to the hotel poool and hot tub. That felt great.

We went to dinner again and this time, we were seated just a few minutes after we arrived. We ordered Crab and artichoke dip and baked oysters.  And I orderd a piece of seared tuna that had been marinated in a apple cider vingear.  OMG, it was delicious.

We walked around the bay front and waited for the sun to set.  But clouds swallowed up our sunset.  So we headed back to the beach to share a beer and just a few more minutes with the ocean.

17- F- NJ/PA

We checked out of our hotel, had breakfast, purchased a hoodie for Martin and then made our way to Jane's house for the afternoon.

The beach was windy but the sun was intense.  It was hard to hear each other speak.  So Martin, Kirsten and Jane huddled under an umbrella and chatted away while I settled myself in my comfortable beach chair and just let the warmth of the sun bake my face until it was beet red.

We left the beach around 3 PM and it more traffic than I had expected. On the way home Kirsten told me that she heard Jane use the funniest express, "nuttier then a fruit cake." She thought that was hilarious and she told the story again, later at dinner.

18- SA- PA

I did nothing today. The Germans have gone home after two weeks.  I told everyone that I wasn't returning until Sunday so no one was looking for me. So I just hung out in the solitude that I find to be so soothing after I've spent continuous time with people.

I did sit on my newly assembled chair on my balcony and I discovered that it is already falling apart due to my poor construction skills.  I am going to have to ask Lauren or William to come over and help me with it before I completely ruin it.

19- SU- PA

It was another gorgeous day and another day of no energy.  I did slip out and do some shopping just because I had to do something. But mostly, I hid away in my apartment.

I watched a mini-series, The Deep End, a documentary about Teal Swan.  OMG, this movie spooked me. I am stunned by the number of people who are so damn lonely and fucked up that they will join any group that offers a minimum of immediate comfort.

I checked in with Jaye and she was tired from her radiation treatment. This continues to break my heart.

My family had a group text going and we wished the men a Happy Father's Day. This is Kevin's 2nd Father's Day and he now has two kids.

Tiasha texted me a few days ago and wanted to have a discussion with me.  She is applying for an internship and isnt having any luck.  I gave her a few pointers and I will check in with her again.

Tweet Response: Please stop making shit up. It doesn’t help anyone and it just adds to the divide in our country. Be more responsible, fir the sake of our country.

20- M- PA

I have been avoiding too many people, in my building,  who are pulling at me, for one reason or anotherisn't  But, today, I have decided that I have to come out of hiding and address all of them.

I no sooner sat down in the lounge and Steve emerged out of nowhere.  He had a 4 pack of beers from Maine.  We chatted for a bit and we will connect more tonight.

My 8 year old laptop is dying right before my eyes. I hadn't turned it on for about a week. And today, it wouldn't turn on for quite some time.  When I looked at my back up history, I saw the last back up was in Nov, 2019.  Yikes.  That is reckless on my part. So I have it working on a back up now and I am getting an indication that it will take 17 hours.

I called Annum and we talked about her move to DE.  She seems to have a better hold on this more than I thought.  So I am a bit relieved.

I haven't checked my financial portfolio for over a month.  Inflation is ripping throughout the world and my portfolio, of course, has taken a hit. I'm down, of course.  But I've been in a recession before.  I have to work on not getting caught up in the panic.

Kevin sent me three videos of GiGi and Jackie.GiGi isn't even two yet but she can identify numbers already.  I am hoping that he can make it to the family party in July.  isn't  If he doesn't come, I will be so disappointed.

I spoke to Andriann about Juneteenth and asked if she celebrated.  We then got on the topic of white supremacy and she conveyed to me that she is becoming increasingly more concerned for her safety here in the USA because she is an African American.  So, she's purchased a hand gun to keep her safe in her home. The fear in this country is growing exponentially.

Tweet Response: 81,000,000 > 73,000,000. Where are you getting the 1%? You aren’t just sitting around and making shit up, are you?

Tweet Response: Your video was disgusting and unAmerican.

21- TU- PA

It's the first day of summer and it is muggy outside. But I'm not complaining because it isn't fucking freezing.

I dropped my car off for an inspection and an oil change and, of course, they found a few more things that needed to be addressed.  So my $120 job is now $1,100.  FUCK!

It's Day #4 of the January 6 Hearings; "They were all lies.  Trump knew it. He did it anyway."

Liz Cheney listed all of the cowards who have called to answer questions to the hearing committee and have taken the 5th or refuse to even show up. She publicly challenged all of Trump's staff who won't come forward to come forward. She has big brass balls.

Tweet response: Thanks for the made up figures. My taxes went up under trumps tax bill.

Tweet: The POTUS (45) purposely and publicly maligned an election worker so that he could promote his lies. She now has to live a compromised life. "I can't believe this person has caused this much damage to my home and family." #TrumpIsACriminal #TrumpisaNationalDisgrace

Tweet: "Do you know how it feels to have the president of the US target you?" Lady Ruby #TrumpCoupAttempt #TrumpIsANationalDisgrace

22- W-PA

I had a quick call with Jaye and she sounded down.

Bill McRae wanted to catch up again since we had so much fun getting together ten days ago.  He brought two more books for me to read.  Our lunch was $39 each.  I had a hoagie ($15) and the equivalent of a pint of beer ($14),  That was an expensive lunch and it annoyed me. I'm not going there again.

Tweet: Yesterday, the SCOTUS treaded on our 1st Amendment rights by allowing vouchers for religious schools in ME. So when are the republicans going to rise up and take over this tyrannical government?

Tweet: The wording of the 2nd Amendment is outdated and dangerous in today’s world. It’s time to amend the 2nd Amendment. #AmendThe2ndAmendment #GunLawsSaveLives #GunSafetyNow

23- TH- PA/DE

My credit card was compromised in the middle of the night.  I woke up with a text, an email and a phone call from Chase to determine if I charged $7.31 from some unknown place.  That's good work to pick up on this transaction.  Now I have to wait 5 business days for my new card to come in the mail. I'm lost without my card.

I went to Wilmington University to look for housing for Annum. It doesn't look promising.

The January 6 Hearings aired #5 episode.  We learned that certain members of congress asked Trump for blanket pardons.  One person asked for a pardon from

On my way home from DE, I stopped in at the 1937 Brewery (2)- DE- Imperial stout, sour smoothie, milkshake IPA, DIPA, and an IPA. They were all delicious and I also had a corned beef sandwich which was also delicious and the price was only $23 but I left a $10 tip.

Tweet: The SCOTUS has just allowed violent vigilantes to declare war on all of us. Our country has just become even more dangerous. #GunSafetyNow

24- F- PA

The Fucking US Supreme court just overturned Roe v Wade.  Fuck them. I hate them.  They have become so political.

Tweet: This is America and today, I have more reproductive rights in PA than women in TX. This is equality? #RoeVsWade #WomensRightsAreHumanRights #WomensRights

Tweet: If this ruling doesn’t inspire a blue wave, nothing will. And they are only going to get worse. #VoteBlueToSaveDemocracy #WomensRights #BlueWave

In the evening, I hung in the courtyard with friends. In the amidst of our conversation, I looked at my app to review my step actvitiy today.  I only walked 981 steps all damn day.  I am a lazy ass.

25- SA- PA

I called Jaye and she sounded down again.  She wants to go to the grocery store and she couldn't because Dom wasn't around to help her. The reality of her new, sick life is getting to her and to me.

I donated six more bags of things to the Green Drop.  And again, it didn't seem to make a difference in the clutter of my apartment.  How could I have so much stuff.

I had dinner with Sue and her two friends. Larry and Anna have been friends with Sue and Tom for years. And for some reason, Larry wanted to take me out to dinner so we went to Anthony's and I had veal piccata which always puts me in a good mood. We had a fun night.

26- SU-PA

I had brunch at the Anderkos to celebrate Father's Day and Lauren's birthday.

I hung in the lounge and Debbie, Jeff and Dom joined me. Later Deb and I went to Kildairies for a late, light dinner. There was almost no one in town.  Where is everyone?  I guess they are getting ready to go to work tomorrow.

27- M- PA

It's raining and chilly today. I need a sweater.

Lauren texted me early this morning to tell me that she has covid.  I immediatley took a test and cam up negative but I am going to have to be careful for the next few days.

I cancelled my dr appointment today because of my covid contact.  I am rescheduled for next week.  And that means it will be another week before I get to talk to my doctor about my shoulder pain.  I have diagnosis my problem as a frozen shoulder and I want to start physical therapy ASAP.

The SCOTUS ruled in favor of a coach who wants to pray with his students on the football field. I feel like I am living in a nightmare.

I headed in to Philly around three to meet up with friends at 5. So I have 40 minutes which was just enough time to go to Yards brewery-(3)- PA. I had a flight of a nitro stout, sour, ipa, wheat ale.  And then the bartender gave me a sample of their newest IPA which was delicious.

Macy Gray perfromed at the City Winery.  I went with Deb, Lisa and Mary.  Her first act was good.  But she came back on fire for the 2nd act.

Tweet: All of our non-Christians have just been silenced today. #SCOTUS #SeparationOfChurchAndState #FreedomOfSpeech #FreedomFromReligion

Tweet: The SCOTUS is out of control.

28- TU- PA

There is an emergency hearing from the January 6 Committee.  Apparently, there is a witness who is going to turn on Trump and I can't wait.

OK, so I just spent two hours listening to the hearing and I cannot believe that anyone who has listened to this testimony would ever support Trump again.  In addition to his complete disregard for the legislators in the Capital, he put all of the Capital Police and all of his supporters in grave jeopardy.  Once again, we see that he only cares about himself.

There is a national rally in DC on July 9 to protest the SCOTUS.  I want to go.

Tweet: So now it is abundantly clear that the Roe v Wade decision was purposely leaked so that republican states had enough preparation to impose an abortion ban on Day 1 of the decision. #WomensRightsAreHumanRights #MyBodyMyRights #VoteBlueToSaveDemocracy

Tweet: Flynn took the Fifth to the question, “Do you believe in the peaceful transition of power.” #TrumpCoupAttempt

Tweet: They set up a war room on Jan 5th. #TrumpCoupAttempt

29- W- PA

I got a haircut and it is too short.  It will just have to grow back.  And I left a bit annoyed because I didn't get the senior citizen discount.  I was going to correct the situation but then I decided to enjoy the moment.  This woman doesn't think I look old enough to be a senior.

I had a video call with Annum.  She is going to wait to come to the USA until she has firm housing plans.  That is a big relief for me.

30- TH- PA

The First African American female was sworn in to the SCOTUS. She is coming at a time when the court is doing everything it can to ruin our freedoms.

I drove 1 1/2 hours to York, PA.  I had to find a brewery in this country to meet my county goals.  So I went to the Mudhook Brewery- PA- York County- Heheweizen, Lemon Pale Ale, Hook Bender DPA, Stout.

I booked my flight to Ireland.  My round trip ticket cost $435.  Now I am nervous that this isnt a legitimate ticket.  That is too good of a deal. Sally and Stacey booked flights for $800.

Tweet response: And it’s not his choice. It’s my body, my choice.
