I am in Nepal for 8 weeks and on a quest to find a good beer. I can find Carlsberg, Tuborg, Budweiser and a Coors Light. But I want Nepali beer even though people in this country dont drink a lot of beer.Here's what I'm finding:
Himalayan Red
We split this pint amongst four of us and I couldn't even finish my glass. The beer was fruity but too sweet and without enough beer flavor to satisfy me. So this beer will not be tried again.
Sherpa Brewery
Himalayan Kolch
It's a Kolch and it's the best beer I have had yet.
With a namesake "Dragon", I thought this beer would be stronger, heartier. It's OK but I won't try it again.
LAGER- this is shit beer, worse than Bud or Natural Light.
Nepal Ice- When I read the label, I made an assumption that this was going to be a light lager which I just hate. But a friend had gone out of her way to buy this beer for me. So I sucked it up and drank. And I actually liked it. It has an 8% alcohol content and it is much more full bodied than I had imagines. I'd drink it again.
