Responsible Stewardship

Bridget Kelly for State Senate

District 35, MD

November 2014

In 2014, I ran for state senate in Maryland.  I didn't make it but i enjoyed the ride. Here is a message from my website:

 RESPONSIBLE STEWARDSHIP

Being moral, responsible stewards of the Earth and its environment is not a practice that should be motivated just to benefit our children and their children. It must become a practice to benefit all living creatures on this earth. It is imperative that we engage in good stewardship now. We have a responsibility today to harbor and protect our wildlife, our plant life and our waters. They have a right to a clean earth. We have a responsibility to ensure that we live a lifestyle that is balanced between their needs and our wants/needs. To that end, we must keep our focus on the following issues:

· Agricultural practices

· Alternative energy sources

· Bay Grasses

· Chemical Contaminants

· Clean air

· Climate changes and weather patterns

· Coal usage and its effect on our air quality

· Cool cities

· Endangered species

· Genetically Modified Organisms (GMO)

· Green space

· Groundwater

· Habitat options

· Invasive species

· Litter Prevention

· Low Impact Land Development

· Maintaining A Pristine Alaska

· Marine Life Preservation

· Natural gas and fracking

· Population Growth

· Recycling

· River and steams preservations

· Solar Energy

· Sprawl issues

· Storm front runoff

· Transportation Options- multiple options, efficient management, reasonable costs

· Wastewater

· Water quality

· Wetlands

· Wildlands preservation
