In 2014, I ran for state senate in Maryland.  I didn't make it but i enjoyed the ride. Here is a message from my website:

Here are some things I would like to accomplish while in office as Senator of District 35:

1- increases state funding for education;

2- ensure that teacher pensions are managed by the state in a secure fund;

3- distribute state funds in an equitable, transparent, and consistent manner;

4- provide tax breaks to those businesses that initiate and mentor students through STEM and STEAM projects;

5- fund incentives as a means to encourage teachers, administrators and community partners to develop innovative programs that improve student achievement;

6- fund Pre-K programs;

7- eliminate the practice of issuing unfunded mandates;

8- reduce state student loan rates so that college graduates are leaving college with the least amount of debt possible;

9- offer funds for high school seniors to engage in internships or dual enrollment programs with local community colleges;

10- streamline the transition process for our children with special needs so that they may leave school with the services they need to contribute to society as best they can.
