In 2014, I ran for state senate in Maryland.  I didn't make it but i enjoyed the ride. Here is a message from my website:

AND TO THE REPUBLIC

All legislators, whether at the local, state or national level, have a common responsibility to uphold the principles of a republic. We must all champion the freedom and dignity of every member of our society. We must not assume the majority has all the power. But rather, how can the majority assure the voice of all its people: the strong, the weak, the invisible, the underdog. All members of our country have value and worth.
