Motown

Motown

I love, love, love the Motown sound.  It makes me happy every time I hear a song from that era.  The Temptations, The Four Tops, Diana Ross, I don't care who is singing it. I never get tired of this sound. I started listening to this music in 1965 when I was 10 and in the 5th grade.  I had a turquoise transistor radio that I got for Christmas.  I had to hold it to my ear to hear it.  And I was always running out of batteries because I get in to bed at night and I would play music all night and then fall asleep and the batteries would be dead in the morning. My parents would never jump to buy me more batteries because they thought it was a waste of money.  So I would have to make a pathetic plea to my grandfather who always felt sorry for me.

At the moment, these are my top 10 Motown hits

  • Bernadette
  • I Heard It Through The Grapevine
  • Ain't No Mountain High Enough
  • The Tracks of My Tears
  • The Tears of A Clown
  • If I Was A Carpenter
  • Proud Mary
  • Dancing In The Street
  • I Second That Emotion
  • Papa Was A Rollling Stone
