Road Trip #2022-5
PA- OH- IN- IL- MO- AK
And Back Again
April 25 to May 1
- I went to fulfill my goal of a brewery in every stay. I went to two breweries in Arkansas. Now I only have HI, AL, and AK left to visit. Both of these brewereis were just OK.
- Eureka Springs, Arkansa was my final destination.
- I traveled about 2480 miles round trip.
- listened to two very long books as I drove: The Body by Bill Bryson and The Lincoln Highway by Amor Towels. Both audiobooks were about 16 long.
- visited 6 breweries- Bike Rack Brewery (AR) , Eureka Springs Brewery (AR), The Washington Brewing Company (PA) , Terre Haute Brewing Company (IN) , Turkey Creek Brewery (MO) and Public House Brewing Company (M0)
- visited the Waltons museum. I hate this family but this stunning museum is a gift to the world.
- visited Thorndale Chapel.
- visited the Christ of the Ozark statue.
- walked the main streets of ES but most of the stores were closed.
- stayed right in town at the Basin Park Hotel. It was really a lovely hotel.
- Eureka Springs is a sweet, little town but there isn't much to do in town after 5 PM.
- There are lots of steep, hilly roads in this area. At one point, I couldn't see the road to the right of me so I had to put my car in park and get out and see how the road turned.
- Lots of men have men buns in this town.
- I wanted to buy some cowboy boots on the way home and stopped at one giant warehouse but didn't find anything I liked and I was so relieved that I just didn't buy any old pair. I so rarely have self control anymore.
