My 21 Resolutions for 2021
West Chester, PA
January 1, 2021
- Be content. This pandemic will pass and I will be able to go back to some semblance of my life. But until then, be content with the life I have. I have not lost a job or income. I have a safe place to harbor. I have a strong support network of family and friends. I am a very lucky person and I have to remember that every day.
- Be present in the moment. This is the only moment I have right now.
- Move more often. Lethargy is not admirable.
- Keep my electronics charged so that I can use them when I need them.
- Take more photos and then delete most of them.
- Seek out the beauty of strangers.
- Explore my local neighborhoods. Room around on foot and notice the gardens and the doors and the light fixtures and the architecture and the colors and the uniqueness of each house.
- Be kinder to everyone. The whole world is suffering right now. Don't add to that suffering.
- Be the solution, not the problem.
- Read, read, read, read, read, read, read.
- And then write, write, write, write.
- Talk less, listen more.
- Play with kids. And laugh with them. And paint with them.
- Seek the opinions and ideas of people who differ from mine. I need to be less rigid in my thinking.
- Support local businesses. They need $$$$$.
- Sit on the beach as often as possible and soothe my soul.
- Get rid of things. I possess too many things and they are a burden.
- Buy fewer things. Only buy consumables: food, beer, movie tickets, etc.
- Stay connected with friends. Check in on them on a regular basis.
- Don't complain about the number of zoom calls I have to attend. I need to be grateful that people still want to connect with me.
- Take care of my health.
