October 2017
October 1- Seattle, WA- today we took baby Elliot to a farmer’s market for several hours and then we came home and watched the Eagles play football. We won.
October 2- Seattle, WA- Heather and I took photos all day. Elliot Is two months old today.
October 3- Seattle, WA- I left my sweet Elliot to go back to Philadelphia. That little baby is so precious.
October 4- I finally, finally change my license plate to Pennsylvania. I am almost finished with all of my ties to Maryland.
October 5- my high school friend, Mariana, came to my apartment this evening and gave a presentation on her photo software. I served as her assistant. She just might hire me.
October 6- I ushered for the first time at the Uptown Theater. I met two people who could possibly be my new friends. Marianna was there with her husband and we went out for drinks afterwards.
October 7-I took a road trip with Jaye and Dom to State College, PA to watch a PSU football game at Champ’s Bar with Sharon and Glenn. Of course, afterwards we went to the creamery and had ice cream.
October 8-we had a nice ride back to the Philadelphia, driving through the mountains as the leaves are changing colors. Some of the trees were just magnificent.
October 9- Chris would be 60 today. This breaks my heart. I went for a Great Dames event with Sharon and Jaye.
October 10-Took a quick road trip to my house in Carpenters Point. It’s still there and I’m no longer interested in it.
October 11- KT arrived from Colorado. She’s here for a week. We will catch up lots of Springfield people.
October 12- we made a quick stop to Carpenters Point as KT wanted to see my old house one more time before I sold it. We had fun times there together.
October 13- my investment club made $3000 this month. I met up with KT and others at the Springfield Alehouse. All in all, I think 15 people showed up. It was nice to see all of them.
October 14- KT and I headed to Long Beach Island for my uncle’s funeral. We stopped at Jane Momer's house and spent the afternoon with she and John on the beach. It’s always nice to see those two.
October 15- Beach Haven, NJ-- today is my Uncle Tom’s funeral. He died in July at the age of 91.The last of the Mohicans has died. There are no more Kelly brothers. Their life span was 100 years from 1917 to 2017. He owned the Coral Seas Motel. So today the motel is packed with Kellys and others who have come pay their respects to him.
October 16- Long Beach Island/West Chester-- we left the beach sometime midafternoon and headed to Springfield where we had dinner with our Germans friends who just arrived from Munich.
October 17-Philadelphia- KT went back to Colorado today. The week when quickly because we saw lots of people so every day what’s up with excitement goodwill.
October 18- Bryn Mawr- I went to the Bryn Mawr film Institute to see Loving Vincent with Leslie and Marianna. My god, this was a spectacular film.
October 19- Bryn Mawr-I went to the movies again to see Lucky, a quirky film about an old man. I also ordered two new pairs of glasses.
October 20- Long Beach Island- I headed back to Beach Haven again but this time I’m with my German friends and we stayed Engleside Hotel. The weather was perfect.
October 21- Long Beach Island, NJ -we spent the whole day on the beach and it was hard to leave this beautiful place at the end of the day.
October 22-Long Beach Island- we had a fun visit to Pineland Brewery where we had butternut squash beer. It was delicious. Then we made our way to the Oyster House and ate and ate and ate and ate all kinds of oysters.
October 23- West Chester, PA- my new glasses are in already. Now I can read again. And I went to the movies once again this week. I went to see Judi Dench in Victoria and Abdul.
October 24- West Chester- I ushered at the uptown theater. The movie Who Stole the Mona Lisa played. And then the director and producer offered the Q & A.
October 25- Philadelphia, PA- I had dinner at McGillan’s in Philadelphia with Celeste Duke. I think it’s been five years since I’ve seen her. It’s always nice to get together with Cessie.
October 26- West Chester, PA - I ushered at the Uptown Theater. Hal Ketchum, one of my favorite country musicians, played for us.
October 27- West Chester, PA-I went to the bank today and ordered my foreign currency for my trips to Nepal and Bhutan. I leave on November 12.
October 28-Springfield PA- we had our annual farewell dinner for our German friends at the Descansos' house. It’s always sad to see them go back to Munich.
October 29-Radner, PA- Trisha and I met our cousin, Cindy, for brunch. She was in town to visit her daughter who just moved to Philadelphia. It’s been 17 years since we’ve seen Cindy.
October 30-West Chester, PA- I spent the day working on my blog and I had over 4500 hits today. That’s a record that will probably never be broken. I started packing for my nine-week trip to Asia.
October 31-Carpenters Point, MD-I took a quick trip to my house to check on it and of course I spent the afternoon soaking in my lovely hot tub.
