A few of my thoughts and memories:

  • Whitewater rafting- Lehigh River (PA) and then again in the San Miguel River (CO).  That's enough.  I don't have to do that again.
  • Wyoming- I went dog sledding in Jackson Hole. It was cold and beautiful.
  • Washington- a beautiful state to visit. Seattle is lots of fun and so are the San Juan islands.
  • Washington, DC- This is always a fun place to visit.
  • Wisconsin- 2018- it snowed heavily the whole time I was there so I didn't get to see much of it.
  • Walt Whitman- I know I am supposed to love his works, along with all those other writers of his time. But they just don't interest me.
  • WWW- Wide World Web- it took me too long to get on board with the internet.
  • Wine- no thanks, I prefer beer.
  • Wind- I love the sound of wind.
  • Wild West- a myth that does not interest me.
  • Wiseman, Alaska- 2007- sitting above the Arctic Circle, this is a dismal place to live (in my opinion).
  • Wildwood, NJ- not a fan.  It's too damn crowded.
  • Woodrow Wilson Library- VA- I didn't know much about this guy before I visited his library and I've forgotten everything I learned at the library.  I guess the guy didn't make an impression on me.
  • Winnipeg, Canada- I have a trip planned for here soon.
  • William- my nephew and partner in watching Harry Potter movies.
  • Whitney Houston- I saw her in concert in the midst of her drug problems and she was terrible.
  • Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me- one of my favorite radio shows.  I went to a live taping in June 2017 in Philadelphia.
  • West Chester, PA- my new hometown.
  • Wings- yes, I like to eat chicken wings but they can't be spicy.
  • Water Ice- a favorite summer time treat.  I love the cold sensation of the favored ice.
  • Whiskey- I can't drink it.  I think it tastes awful.
  • World Views- I have a lot of them.
  • Winter- I can handle it just as long as I am properly dressed.
  • Winter Ales- some of my favorite beers.
  • World Citizen- that's how I view myself.
  • Women's Empowerment- my mission in live.
  • Will Power- I could use a little more.
  • Weight- I could shed 20+ pounds.
  • Waking Up In The Morning- always a trauma for me.
  • Will. I. Am- A New Day- he wrote this song the day after Obama was elected President.
  • Winter Gear- coat, gloves, hat, scarves, boots, multiple layers, ear muffs (sometimes) and a bad attitude.
  • Wanderlust- I have it.  I always have to have a planned trip in front of me.
  • Weight lifting- I should probably get in to this as I get older.  I don't have to lift a lot of weight but I should do something to protect my bones.

  • Walmart- I hate this store and I shop here all the time.
  • Woodpeckers- one of my favorite birds.
  • Wheat Bread- I hate it.  I know it is better for me than white bread but I hate it.
  • Watermelon- I only like it in the summer.  But I can't stand how it drips down my arm.
  • White Privilege- it took me too long to understand this concept.
  • Wimbledon, England- I got in here for free.
  • Waiting For Godot- I saw the play on Broadway and it was boring.
  • Winnebago RVs- I want one.
  • Wasting food- I was never allowed to waste food as a kid.  Now I travel to third world countries so wasting food is hard from to do.. Consequently, I would rather overeat than waste food.
  • “We all need contrast in our lives.” Lone Traveller by Anne Mustoe
  • Without Religion- that's me.  Organized religion seems crazy to me.
  • Watching TV- I don't have a TV.  I haven't had one at all as an adult so I don't watch a lot of TV.
  • Wilmington, DE-  I like to go to the Grand Opera House and Jaye's house.
  • West Virginia-1964-  my family went to a dude ranch here for a week in Falling Waters.  It was great fun.
  • White Hair- I don't dye my hair so it is turning white but it is taking too damn long to turn all white.
  • WAWA- a convenience store worthy of a daily visit.
  • Winslow, Arizona- there is a song that references this town and I recently drove through it.  I can't remember the song but the tune keeps running through my head now.
  • Walkman- 1983- I loved my portal cassette player.
  • Waddling- my preferred walking pace.
  • Willow Trees- these tress always remind me of my grandfather.  We would stay under a willow tree and see him off on the bus as he left our house.  Now, every time I see a willow tree, I think of my grandfather.
  • Whitefish Lodge Spa- October 6- Montana- An 80 minute facial, a 15 minute puffy eye treatment, soaking in the hot tub, lingering in the steam room, a big, comfy robe, a salmon BLT sandwich, a cool pint of beer and two friends. Life doesn't get any better than this.
  • Woodbine Avenue, Philadelphia- I grew up on this street.
  • Wynnewood, PA- my grandparents had an apartment here, about 2 miles from our house.
  • Wedding Officiant- I do secular weddings.
  • Williamsburg, VA- I loved it as a kid.  It was a bit boring as an adult.

  • Worry- I can spend way too much time in this bullshit.
  • WIBG- Wibbage Radio Station- my first radio station when I was a kid.
  • WFIL- 56AM- top 40 hits only.
  • WMMR- 93.3 FM- this station played rock and roll before anyone else did.
  • WXPN- 88.5, the station that I listen to now. They play singer/songwriters.
  • Watergate Podcast recommendation- Slow Burn.
  • When A Man Loves A Woman- Marvin Gaye- a great Motown song from the 1960's.
  • William Kennedy- USA writer.  he writes about bums and low-lifes and his stories are deep and sad. He is, in my opinion, a modern Steinbeck.
  • Winter storms- I like the moment of the blizzard.  I like watching the snow take over the land.  I like that moment when I realize it has stopped snowing and the brightness of the snow glistens under the street light.  And then the next day, I hate the inconvenience of it all.

  • World Academy for the Future of Woman (WAFW)- this program is in China and Nepal and I teach here from tome to time.
  • “Who are these people from my past?  How have they managed to slip from my memory?  And if I cannot identify them, have I lost a part of myself? This led me to wonder, as Beckett would” who, then am I?”-  The Pleasure of Their Company by Doris Grumback
  • Warblers- I am a birder and great birders love to spot warblers and travel the toward to find them.  Good birders can distinguish them after it is pointed out to them.  Even if I look in a guide book, I can't distinguish them from finches.
  • Wandering Across AmericaWanderingthroughamerica.blogspot.com -A Consistent Goal- I travel a lot. At this point in my life, it seems as if I am on the road, going somewhere, about 30-40% of my time.  I am always packing for the next trip and making some sort of arrangement for the trip after that. There is a lot to see in this vast world and I want to see it all.
  • Wandering Through the World-  another blog and another goal.
  • Wasted MomentsI have wasted a lot of m moments in life, too many precious moments and I wish I could get them backs that I could do more constructive things in my life.
