Travel Plans: The Next Five Years

Travel Plans
The Next Five Years
62-67 years old

I'm getting old, really old. I can really see it and feel it.  My knees and hip are filled with arthritis.  I am tiring more.  I'm finding that long trips are harder to take.  I think I am on the downside of my adventurous traveling.  I think Perrillo and tour bus trips are in my future.  But there are still big places I want to go and I better go now or forever hold my peace.

In the next five years, I have to go to:
  • Cuba-  I want to go strictly to photograph the vibrant colors.

  • Uganda- I want to see the silver back gorillas.  But I am worried about the amount of hiking.

  • The Silk Road- this could be a tough journey, particularly if I have to ride yet another damn camel.  I don't want to go by camel.

  • Burma-  I wanted to go this year but the social unrest worried me.  I think there will probably be a small window of opportunity for me to see this country.

  • Churchville, Canada- I want to see the polar bears but this trip is so damn expensive that I continue talk myself out of going.  I just have to bit the bullet and do it.

I still have to see Hawaii, North Dakota and Mississippi.  Once I visit these places, I will have travels to all 50 states.

I've added Lincoln's Library and Obama's Library to my list of places to visit as well.

If I could get to see these places, that would be a pretty good 5 years of travel.
