The merchants of China really hold my interest. They work seven days a week, rain or shine, hot or cold. If they take a day off, they don't make any money for the day. That' s a hard life. This woman sells socks. Her entire inventory fits in that purpple bag of hers. Every day, she finds a spot near the campus gates, sets her stool down and lays out her inventory. Her entire livelihood can be bundled up in a small, purple bag and carried home without much effort.
