"The government schools", he tells me, "they are not so good. so many, many people send their childs to private school. In the government school, the teachers, they don't care if the child learns or not. I send my child to private school and he learns English. His English is good, better than mine. I pay 4,000,000 shillings a year and he lives there. That includes everything. My son is getting a very good education.This man is a taxi driver and he is paying the equivalent of $2000 a year to educate this child. I couldn't believe how content he was with this investment. I wanted to ask him more about his finances but didn't know how I could tactfully proach the subject. So after our 1/2 hour taxi ride, i just paid him $15 and left it at that.
