Ocean City Brewing Company
56th Street
Ocean City, MD
January 2015
I wake up and it is another cold, winter day and I feel
stuck in the winter doldrums. So, I pack
a bag and head to the beach. The three-hour
drive goes quickly even though I am focused on my mission. I am headed to The Ocean City Brewery to try
new beers. There are a lot of things I like about this brewery. It sits on the main highway of this very busy
summer resort, just a few blocks from the ocean. They offer 24 beers n tap. The service is great. The staff is friendly. And there are lots and
lots of room for lots and lots of people.
There is a tasting room and a restaurant that serves good, responsible
priced food.
I try:
· Elf Honey Ginger Ale- YES
·
Pumpkin Hollow- NO
·
Lost Souls Coffee Stout- YES
·
Surf Ryder Rye IPA- YES
·
Big Decisions Double IPA- YES
·
Gold Diggers Raspberry Ale- NO
Usually, I don’t like a beer with a fruit taste because I
think the sweet taste ruins the bitterness of a beer. Pumpkin beer is the only
exception because this fruit isn’t sweet. The Raspberry beer tasted like a
lip-gloss beer. But the ginger beer had a lightness and freshness that could
easily be considered a great summer beer.
Ocean City Brewing Company should be a destination point for
any beer kook wandering through MD.
