January Memories
- · Snow, the cold weather, sledding, dead trees, piles and piles of warm clothing to put on just to go outside, hot chocolate, tomato soup.
- sledding down the snow-covered hills at St Charles Seminary in Philadelphia.
- winter dread- short days and cold nights.
- Basketball season- I liked it best when my team made a basket and then the other team did and then we did and then they did and so on until the buzzer rang and my team got the final basket and the winning point. I like a nail biting game.
- · 1985- Penn State wins the National Championship and the whole town comes out for a parade. Anyone, any group was allowed to enter a float. As I watch with Doug, we are kicking ourselves for not coming up with some sort of crazy entry into this small town parade. Just then, the Hari Krishnas for Penn State car drive by in their modest float and now we are insufferable with regret.
- · 2014- too many members of Congress were making too many stupid, thoughtless, offensive comments about women and rape. So I drove to Washington, DC and filed papers to run for US Congress. I had had enough of this despicable behavior.
- 2018- Nepal
- 2018- visited the African American Museum in DC.
- 2010- I came home from a trip to Bermuda and found that my furnace had a puff-back which is an internal explosion. Soot and oil was spewed all over my house and it took two months to restore everything.
