A WEEK IN REVIEW-
Dec 17 to Dec 23, 2013
This was a week of contrasts, reflections and reevaluations of what is important to me.
Monday- Went to a Reiki session. I didn’t know what to expect. I thought it would be similar to reflexology. But it is all about energy and psychics and auroras. I am a nonbeliever but I did leave feeling a little calmer and a bit more committed to being open to new ideas of energy and other divine powers.
Tuesday- meet with a woman who is going to help me in my quest to open a sewing school in Haiti this summer. She owns a high end fabric store right outside of Philadelphia and she is going to get all the donations I need. We will secure 10 sewing machines, 20 sewing kits and 100 yards of fabric.
Wednesday- went to my Women’s Investment Club meeting and jumped with joy over our good fortune. Our stocks are doing well and our portfolio is healthy so I feel smug about my false ability to beat the stock market. Dumb luck certainly can be a confidence builder.
Thursday- went to my local Democratic Club meeting and we decided that we are going to find a local resident who is in jail for a nonviolent crime but has received a long, injustice sentence. We are going to consider a campaign to ask the govern for a pardon.
Friday- The KKK came to town and held a public meeting. I attended and I was spooked. It was creepy. Their message was filled with ignorance and hate. But much to my surprise, the majority of the audience was against them.
Saturday- went to a pagan ceremony to bring in the winter solstice. The afternoon in the sweat lodge was spent reflecting on our blessings and peace, a far cry from the message I heard last night.
Sunday- a day of rest. spend the day in sweats, drinking coffee, reading, playing spider solitaire and catching up on all of the updates on Facebook.
