Beer Fact #62

When I was working, I mostly only drank on Fridays and Saturdays.  Now that I am not working, I don't know what damn day it is anymore. Now I drink whenever I can. And by can, I mean I drink until I can't handle the effects of the alcohol on my liver. That's what happens when you get old.

Pumpkin Ale is Released

PA/NJ

1- SU-NJ/PA

I got out of bed and immediately had a nose bleed. Damn, damn, damn, damn, damn. FUCK!!!

We went to a vegan bakery and the five of us had a pastry and a drink and the bill was $59. OUCH!! Where was Dunkin' Donuts when we needed them.

As I was getting ready to leave, I had another nose bleed. Heather sat with me outside as I bled all over everything. Now,  I am passing clots and some sort of bloody slug came out of my nose. It was so gross, i asked Heather if I could show her and when I did, she jumped up and said, "Im going to go get my phone, I want to goggle that."

I made it home without incident. but I didn't go to a brewery in NJ as I had intended.  I just wanted to get home. And when I did get home, I had another nose bleed. I am going to make an appointment to see and ENT doctor.

2-M- PA

I just saw that Iron Hill has released its pumpkin ale. All is right with the world. Kristen joined me for a beer and I was so excited that I count wait for her beer to arrive.  I just took that first sip and I was so damn happy. Kevin stopped in and joined us as well.

Cindy texted me to see if I can get to their house on Thursday by dinner time. Jameson is around this night and he wants me to meet the new girlfriend. I cant wait.

Twitter: I just spent the weekend with my niece and her husband and we didn't talk about the orange idiot at all. The end of his reign of terror is near. What a relief!!! #HarrisWalz2024

3- TU- PA

I was just getting out of bed at noon with he intent of getting ready for my 1:30PM stretch appointment when I checked my calendar and discovers that my appointment was in half an hour. Fuck!! I didnt make it. So I had to reschedule for tomorrow.

Then I wandered over to Costco and it was so damn busy that it overwhelmed me so I had lunch there and just headed home. When I got home, I was out of energy and thought I would just lay down and listen to one podcast and three hours later, I work up in a fog.  What a wasted day.

My Kamala Harris swag order came in. I want to put a sticker on my car but I think I will wait until I come back from VA. I'll be in trump country and i dont want my car damaged.

Reports form the Trump campaign indicated that they are closing down many campaign HQs in certain states. It's as if they have surrendered to win by votes and now are focused on another plan to try to steal the election again.

4-W- PA

I had my exercise session but I pulled a groin muscle last night and now I am a bit of a crybaby.

I got an appointment with an ENT doctor.  The receptionist seemed concerned about my bloody nose situation. I go on Monday.  I could have gotten in as early as tomorrow but I am headed to VA to meet Jameson's new girlfriend. I can't wait.

I had another damn nose bleed. I am so tired of this bleeds.

5- Th- PA/VA

knee shots

I drove to VA to have dinner with Jameson and his new girlfriend and I like her.

Twitter: It’s time to amend the 2nd Amendment.

6- F- VA

We drove to Va Tech to see Clay run in his first race in a year.

7- SA- VA/PA

On the way home from visiting the Kellys, I stopped at the Winchester Brewery in VA and my beers were delicious.

8- SU- PA

Steve's 80th birthday party was celebrated at Limoncello and the food was excellent.

Twitter: I can’t keep up with all of the horrific shootings over the last few days. And I can’t afford to continue to be enraged because I know nothing will be done to address this insane issue. And that fills me with despair. #GunReformNow

9- M- PA

I had an appointment today with an ENT Specialist.  I had my nose cauterized to stop all of my nose bleeds.  I had grossly underestimated how offensive this procedure could be.

10- TU- PA

I was supposed to go for a stretch today but  I am seeping too many gross fluids from my nose so I postponed the appointment.

I was also supposed to go to watch the Presidential debate at a bar with others but, again, I felt too gross to be in public.

The debate was so much fun. Kamala kicked his ass.  She made him shake her hand. She told the whole world that his rallies are boring.  She listed all of his crimes and convictions.  She laughed at his comment that Haitians are eating peoples' dogs and cats in Springfield, OH. She corrected him when he said women are aborting babies up to and beyond the 9th month of pregnancy. She laughed when he was asked if he has a healthcare plan (after 9years of promising one) and he proudly claimed that he had some concepts of a plan.  He was an absolute fool.

Twitter: I loved how she forced him to shake her hand.

Twitter: I wish she had made a few more comments about his boring rallies. If she had, she could have finished him off for this election and we would never have to hear from him again.

11- W- PA

I tried to cancel my personal trainer session today because I al still dripping gross fluids from my nose. But they were going to charge me to accommodate my request, so I just wnet in anyway.

Twitter: She took no prisoners!!! 🇺🇸#HarrisForPotus2024

12- TH- PA

I got the second round of my gel shots for my knee and I am so damn happy as I have no pain anywhere on my body.  I don't remember the last time I was pain free.

I went to Costco and bought too much stuff.

13- F- PA

We had dinner at Sue's house. She is so generous with her home.

14- SA- PA

It was Barb and Pavle's birthday party today and I drank too much

I ran around the inside perimeter of the building. I can't remember the last time I ran.  It could be 40 years ago when I was still taking public transportation and running for a bus or train.

15- SU- PA

I'm sort of low key today as I drank too much yesterday and am just trying to hang low.

I have been ordering gummy samples.  Four different kinds came in today. JoJo was with me as I opened my boxes so she left with a few samples.

I read the itinerary for my trip and it sounds great.

16- M- PA

I had a Stretch session this afternoon.

I bought 7 different pumpkin ales and I cant wait to try them.

For happy hour, I went to Iron hill with Kristen

17 TU- PA/NY

I got up at 8 AM and was on the road by 9AM to pick up Kathi L by 10AM to head to LBI to hang with my high school friends.

18-W- PA

I had my last training session and now I am as ready as I am going to be to go to Rwanda next week.

CS held a corn hole completion. I didn't participate but they were offering pumpkin ale so I was so damn happy. My new, young, PSU friends won the competition.

19-TH- PA

I had my last knee shots and steroids shots as well. I should be good to do the Irish jig now.

I followed up with the ENT to see if my nose has healed from the caulderization last week and everything looks great.  I then asked his about getting my hearing checked and it was dome right there and I have to get fucking hearing aides.  I am too damn young for hearing aides.  Old people get hearing aides.

Kristen joined me in the lounge and we had our first beer tasting of the season.  Ashley came down and joined us in her pajamas but she didn't drink any beer.  Then Kim joined us.  Barb showed up and a new woman. Gina, emerged and she tried one beer.  We tried 5 beers and I had a good time.

20- F- PA

I had lunch with Tricia and Joann. We need to do this more often.

In the evening, a group of us went to a small theater to listen to a comedy show.

21- SA- PA

I met Kevin in the lounge and we walked to Jake's for a few beers. Kevin, Rich, Barb, Jim and Andrea joined us.

My damn debit card isn't working and I am about to take off on an international trip.  Damn.

We got home around 4 PM and I had to take a nap.  I got up at 9 and biked 4 miles on the stationary bike.  Then I made arrangements for my Joni Mitchell trip.

22- SU- PA

I left this day open to prepare for my trip.

23-M- PA

A group of us went to Jitters for dinner. We pigged out on hot dogs, pierogies, beer and tater tots. They picked up the tab abd said it was going away dinner.

24-TU- PA

I wasted too much time packing as it was too difficult to stay on task but I finally pulled myself together, got it done and took off to the airport to a hotel where I will leave my car while I am gone.

25-W-PA.

I leave for Rwanda

26-TH- Rwanda

I traveled all day from Philly to dc to Belgium to Rwanda

I made it without incident

My sleep apnea has become a terrible problem on the plane. If all asleep and then I let out a snort that is so loud and jarring that it wakes me up. It’s embarrassing and dangerous.

27-F- Rwanda

Ground rules: no discussion of American politics. Do not ask anyone about their tribal affiliation.

Tried a beer and liked it.

Talked with a survivor

Too much food

Twitter: I spent the day at the Rwanda Genocide Museum and have concluded that MAGA doesn’t want a civil war. They want genocide.
